The powertrain device for a vehicle includes an engine and an automatic transmission, the automatic transmission includes a plurality of friction fastening elements for selectively switching motive power transmitting paths, a predetermined friction fastening element among the plurality of friction fastening elements is a travel-start friction fastening element performing slip control in a travel start, and the powertrain device includes, between the engine and the automatic transmission, a motive power connection-disconnection clutch which is released at least in an engine start and is fastened earlier than the travel-start friction fastening element in a travel start of the vehicle.

A power train device of a vehicle includes an engine and an automatic transmission. The automatic transmission is configured such that in a neutral state, multiple ones of multiple rotary elements forming a power transmission path other than a rotary element coupled to an input member and a rotary element coupled to an output member are in a non-restraining state. The multiple ones of the multiple rotary elements include a rotary element of a predetermined brake among multiple friction fastening elements, and the predetermined brake is fastened before a fuel supply upon an engine start.

A reverse brake mechanism for an automobile transmission has a synchronizing mechanism including a clutch sleeve, mounted for sliding movement on a primary transmission shaft, which has peripheral clutch teeth with chamfers arranged at regular separations. A synchronizing ring, mounted for rotation on the primary shaft, has peripheral synchronizing teeth with chamfers arranged at regular separations, and a brake member is provided for braking the primary shaft. The brake member is operationally coupled to the primary shaft through the synchronizing ring while the clutch sleeve is brought into engagement with the synchronizing ring through their teeth with chamfers when shifting the automobile transmission to a reverse gear.

A transfer shift apparatus for shifting a vehicle between two wheel drive and four wheel drive includes a shift mechanism including a reversible motor which is continuously driven to rotate in one direction of rotation according to a shift signal so as to shift the vehicle into a desired drive condition. A motor drive controller controls the motor to stop its rotation when detecting a predetermined load on the motor and not to rotate in another direction for a predetermined time period from a time the shift signal disappears.

A control apparatus for a power train shifting mechanism is designed so as to deenergize a motor when a load larger than a given value is applied to the motor as a driving source in shifting a power train in accordance with a stroke displacement. When the shift position is shifted from a stroke end position to an intermediate position other then the stroke end position, a load value for deenergizing the motor is set to a larger value than that of shifting the shift position in other ways.

Transfer case motor control apparatus for 4 WD mechanism

A transmission is equipped with a planetary gear type transmission unit disposed between an input member and an output member within a casing. The transmission unit is comprised of a sun gear, a ring gear and a plurality of planet gears carried by a carrier coupled with the output member. The planet gears are in mesh with the sun gear and the ring gear. The input and output members are coupled with each other by bypassing the gears of the transmission unit in direct drive or via these gears in reduction ratio drive. The transmission is further provided with a first change-over member in mesh with the input member for selectively connecting the input member with the carrier in direct drive or with the sun gear in reduction ratio drive and a second change-over member secured to the first change-over member for engaging the ring gear with the casing in reduction ratio drive or disengaging the former from the latter in direct drive.

Planetary gear type transmission

A transfer case operation mode shifting apparatus is actuated by an electric actuator including an electric motor and a differential power transmitting mechanism which transmits a driving power for axially moving a differential gear shift member to shift a center-differential gear assembly between a four-wheel and a two-wheel drive mode of operation. The driving power transmitted by the differential power transmitting mechanism and acting on the differential gear shift means is smaller when shifting the center-differential gear assembly from the four-wheel to the two-wheel drive mode of operation than when shifting back the center-differential gear assembly from the two-wheel to the four-wheel drive mode of operation.
