Ethylene polymer particles having an intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;] of 5 dl/g to 30 dl/g, a degree of crystallinity of as high as 80% or more, and a specific shape on the surface of the particles. The ethylene polymer particles can be obtained by carrying out polymerization of olefins including ethylene using an olefin polymerization catalyst containing a solid titanium catalyst component including magnesium, halogen and titanium under specific conditions. The ethylene polymer particles obtained by a solid phase method, such as solid phase drawing molding, are capable of providing a molded article with high strength.

Process for manufacturing an extruded article and an extruded article

A laminated film comprises at least an aluminum layer and, superimposed on one side thereof by extrusion lamination, a linear low-density polyethylene layer, this linear low-density polyethylene layer prepared with the use of a metallocene olefin polymerization catalyst and having a density of 0.895 to 0.930 g/cm and an MFR (190&deg; C.) of 0.1 to 100 g/10 min, wherein the linear low-density polyethylene layer at its surface exhibits an oxygen concentration of linear low-density polyethylene per se ranging from 1.0 to 1.4 atomic %. The laminated film which has an excellent balance of aluminum bond strength and heat sealing properties of linear low-density polyethylene layers and it can be provided at low cost. Further, a laminated film comprising at least the linear low-density polyethylene layer, the aluminum layer and a substrate layer arranged in this order can be provided at low cost by adding a layer or layers to the laminated film obtained by the extrusion lamination. This laminated film is suitable to, for example, a packaging material for dry food.

A polypropylene-laminated steel sheet is provided which is less liable to cause whitening on receiving impact shock and is superior in resistance to corrosion. A process for producing the polypropylene-laminated steel sheet is also provided. The polypropylene-laminated steel sheet comprises, at least on one side of the steel sheet, a layer (A) of modified polypropylene grafted with an unsaturated carboxylic acid, and, if desired, a layer (B) of polypropylene formed additionally on the layer (A), the modified polypropylene of the layer (A) and the polypropylene of the layer (B) having crystallinity of not more than 55%. The modified steel sheet is produced by the process which comprises melt-extruding and laminating a modified polypropylene (A) grafted with an unsaturated carboxylic acid on at least one side of a preheated steel sheet, and, if desired, a polypropylene (B) further thereon, and cooling the steel sheet, the modified polypropylene (A) and the polypropylene (B) together at a cooling rate of not less than 20.degree. C./sec at least in the temperature range of from 100.degree. C. to 55.degree. C.
