An illumination apparatus that is to be disposed in a recess formed in a part of a building includes: a light-emitting module that includes a board and a plurality of light-emitting elements disposed on the board; a light diffuser that has translucency and covers the light-emitting module; and a specular reflector that is disposed between the light-emitting module and the light diffuser. The light-emitting module emits light toward the light diffuser, and the specular reflector reflects light from the light diffuser.

Illumination apparatus for simulating blue sky

An illumination system includes: a first luminaire that emits first illumination light having a color simulating a sky; a second luminaire that is disposed in a same space as the first luminaire, the second luminaire projecting, on an object, second illumination light simulating sunlight to create a sunny portion on the object; and a controller that causes the first luminaire to emit the first illumination light according to an environment reproduction condition.

Artificial skylight utilizing light-guides for enhanced display

An illumination device is provided. The illumination device includes a substrate including a light-emitter. An instrument main body includes a substrate arrangement surface, with the substrate being on the substrate arrangement surface. A cover is attached to the instrument main body, covers the substrate, and is transparent. An antenna is on the cover and configured to receive a signal from an outside of the illumination device. A driver is on the instrument main body and configured to supply power to the light-emitter. A controller is configured to control the power supplied from the driver to the light-emitter based on the signal received by the antenna. The cover includes a diffusion factor from 40% to 90%.

An illumination apparatus includes: a case having an opening portion; a light source disposed in the case and including a plurality of light-emitting elements; a light diffuser which is disposed in the opening portion, and diffuses and transmits light emitted from the plurality of light-emitting elements; and a controller that controls light emission from the light source. The controller: controls light emission from the plurality of light-emitting elements to project an image on the light diffuser, the image changing with time; and when changing the light emission from the plurality of light-emitting elements changing the image, controls the light emission from the light source to keep a change in at least one of (i) a light amount, (ii) a color temperature, and (iii) a spectral distribution of light emitted from the illumination apparatus within a predetermined range.

A light diffuser includes: a thermoplastic resin base which has a thermal expansion coefficient of at least 4&#xd7;10/K and at most 8&#xd7;10/K; and a light diffusion layer which is disposed on a surface of the thermoplastic resin base and includes an acrylic resin film and an acrylic resin particle, the acrylic resin film including one or more acrylic resins having a glass transition temperature of at least 30&#xb0; C. and at most 50&#xb0; C., the acrylic resin particle being included in the acrylic resin film and having an average particle size of at least 1 &#x3bc;m and at most 15 &#x3bc;m.

Light diffuser and luminaire

An illumination apparatus includes light sources; a light guide plate guiding lights from the light sources; a housing holding the light sources and the light guide plate; and an apparatus attachment part. The light sources are arranged around the apparatus attachment part, and the light guide plateis provided outside the apparatus attachment part to face the housing and cover a front side of the light sources. The light guide plate includes a main light guide part guiding lights from the light sources toward an outer periphery of the light guide plate and scattering and emitting the lights to a surface of the main light guide part; and an auxiliary light guide part integrated with the main light guide part at an inner peripheral side of the main light guide part and guiding and emitting the lights from the light sources toward the central portion of the housing.
