According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display pixel allocated at a matrix state in a display area, an image-reading device which detects strength of capacitive coupling by a dielectric material coming close to or making contact with the display area, and a control portion which controls each transistor of the image-reading device. The image-reading device includes a detection electrode which forms capacitance between the detection electrode and the dielectric material, a pre-charge gate line, a coupling pulse line, a readout gate line, a pre-charge line and a readout line. These lines supply a signal which drives the image-reading device. The image-reading device further includes a pre-charge transistor, an amplification transistor, a readout transistor, a compensation transistor, and a power-source switching transistor.

Display device

In one embodiment, a display device having a touch function includes an insulating substrate and a plurality of pixels formed on the insulating substrate and arranged in a matrix of rows and columns. The pixels form a plurality of pixel blocks formed of a plurality of rows and columns of the pixels. A sensor circuit is arranged in a space between adjacent pixels on the insulating substrate and includes a coupling electrode, a detection electrode arranged adjacent to the coupling electrode for forming a coupling capacitance therebetween, and a reading-out circuit to read out a potential of the detection electrode. At least one sensor circuit is arranged in each pixel block. The contact or non-contact by a fingertip or a nib is detected by a potential difference of the detection electrode.

Display device with integrated touch function

According to one embodiment, a sensor module includes a first sensor circuit, a second sensor circuit and a differential circuit. The first sensor circuit includes a first detection electrode, a first amplifier formed of a thin-film transistor and a first coupling capacitor. The second sensor circuit includes a second detection electrode, a second amplifier formed of a thin-film transistor and a second coupling capacitor. The differential circuit is connected to the drain electrode of the first amplifier and the drain electrode of the second amplifier.

Image forming apparatus

An apparatus and method for recording an image using a transfer-type recording mechanism are such that a layer of an intermediate transfer element is removably formed on a surface of an intermediate transfer medium. The intermediate transfer element includes an ultraviolet stabilizer and a powder mixture. The intermediate transfer layer is capable of being dissolved and swelled by applying an ink liquid on the intermediate transfer medium and enables a viscosity of the ink liquid residing thereon to be increased. An image is produced on the intermediate transfer medium by supplying the ink liquid thereon. The image is then transferred to the recording medium, so that a high quality image is produced without any blurring, mixing or penetration of the ink liquid.

A light-heat conversion in a light-stimulated writing method and associated apparatus include an image recording body having an element, which absorbs an (electromagnetic wave) provided in a surface of a recording body, or in a recording layer formed on an uppermost layer of the recording body having a material exhibiting a thermal changeable character of wettabilty, or in a substrate or an intermediate layer of the recording body. After a liquid is disposed on the recording body by a liquid forming device, light-stimulated writing is carried out, resulting on an enhanced efficiency of light-heat conversion by a light absorbing element.

A predetermined level of voltage is applied between the input/output terminal to which the wiring line is connected and another input/output terminal which at least supplies picture signals, and a current flowing at that time is measured to detect failures.

Image forming apparatus having a supporting device for supporting imaging units

A plurality of types of engine units which have nonvolatile storage units and which have different performances, respectively, can be attached to an image formation apparatus main body in a replaceable manner. A control unit which controls the performance of an overall apparatus based on information stored in the storage units provided in the engine units, respectively, which are attached to the image formation apparatus main body, is provided in the image formation apparatus main body. Therefore, even if the image formation apparatus main body is common, the performance of the overall apparatus related to recording speed or resolution can be changed only by replacing the engine units different in performance. It is also possible to easily deal with various types of apparatuses.
