A power supply apparatus that supplies electric power to an external electrical device through a cable is provided with a battery pack, and a battery pack case that houses the battery pack. The battery pack case includes a case body having an opening through which the battery pack to be taken in and out, a cover member that liquid-tightly closes the opening of the case body, in which at least one of the case body and the cover member is formed with a ventilation hole so as to penetrate therethrough, and a filter apparatus that does not allow liquid to pass therethrough but allows gas to pass therethrough is provided in the ventilation hole.

Power supply apparatus

An operating device of an electric outboard motor has a steering bar-shaped handle projecting forward and pivotally supported on a hull to be able to steer right and left. A propeller of the electric outboard motor is driven by an electric motor driven by power supplied from a power supply. On a tip portion of the steering bar-shaped handle, the operating device is provided with an accelerator grip that is made to pivot on an axial center normally and reversely from a neutral position to adjust an amount of power to be supplied to the electric motor according to a pivot amount. The operating device includes in the accelerator grip or in vicinity of the accelerator grip, an accelerator grip fixing mechanism that fixes a pivot position of the accelerator grip at the neutral position to be able to release a fixation easily.

Operating device of electric outboard motor

Provided is an electric outboard motor that includes a drive motor, which is an AC motor, as a drive source. The electric outboard motor includes: an outboard motor main body that includes the drive motor and an inverter that converters a direct current to an alternating current to supply the alternating current to the drive motor; a control/power supply unit that is formed separately from the outboard motor main body and that can supply the direct current to the inverter; and a connection cable that electrically connects the outboard motor main body and the control/power supply unit. The inverter and the drive motor are stacked and arranged in an axial direction of a rotation output axis of the drive motor. Part of the inverter falls within an outline of the drive motor in a view in the axial direction of the rotation output axis of the drive motor.

Electric outboard motor

An outboard motor is provided with an engine covered by an engine cover composed of a plurality of cover elements and formed with a port member having an cable insertion port through which operation cables are guided inside an outboard motor and an operation cable mounting structure is formed to the outboard motor, which comprises: a port member being arranged so as to straddle a plurality of the cover elements of the engine cover and composed of a first port member half provided to one of the cover elements and a second port member half provided to another one of the cover elements, the port member halves having openings opposed to each other so that when the port member halves are mated and joined together, the port member having a cable insertion port as a unit member having an opening; a grommet closing the opening of the cable insertion port; a partition wall section disposed in one of the first and second port member halves so as to divide the opening of the cable insertion port; and a boss member provided for the partition wall section which is secured to the one of cover elements through a bracket.

Operation cable mounting structure of outboard motor

In an outboard motor, an engine is covered by an engine cover unit, and the engine cover unit comprises a lower cover section covering a surrounding of a lower portion of an engine in a usable state of an outboard motor arranged vertically, an upper cover section covering a surrounding of an upper portion of the engine, the upper cover section being mounted to be detachable to the lower cover section so as to provide an engine cover when mounted, and a height adjusting device provided for an inside surface of the lower cover section and adapted to adjust a height of the engine cover. The height adjusting device comprises a holder mounting member integrally mounted to the inside portion of the lower cover section and formed with a holder insertion groove, a cushion holder to be inserted into the holder insertion groove, an elastic member mounted to the cushion holder to be movable in an axial direction thereof, and a rib member provided to the upper cover section, the rib member having an end portion abutting against the elastic member in a state that the upper cover section is closed.

Engine cover unit of outboard motor

An outboard motor includes an engine holder, an engine installed above the engine holder, an intake apparatus disposed on one side of the engine, and an electric equipment box and an exhaust apparatus both disposed on another side of the engine. The intake apparatus comprises a throttle body installed in a front portion of the engine, a silencer operatively connected to an upstream side of the throttle body, a surge tank disposed on one side of the engine, and an intake manifold operatively connected to the surge tank. The silencer extends around a front side of the engine towards the exhaust apparatus. The silencer is provided with an upstream end portion to which an intake port is formed to open rearward. The upstream end portion may be fixed to a wall portion of the electric equipment box and the upstream end portion of the silencer has a lower surface to which an intake port is formed so that it opens downward.

Intake apparatus of outboard motor

An outboard motor includes an engine holder, an engine disposed above the engine holder and the engine includes a cylinder block provided with a plurality of cylinders, a cylinder head disposed behind the cylinder block and a crankcase, a cam chain case through which said engine is mounted on the engine holder, and an exhaust apparatus operatively connected to the cylinder head. The exhaust apparatus includes an exhaust passage formed to the cam chain case, an exhaust manifold connected to the cylinder head, a water jacket formed to the exhaust manifold and another water jacket formed to the exhaust passage. The exhaust passage is formed at a portion near a central portion of the engine having most wide width in association with a lower end portion of the exhaust manifold.

Exhaust apparatus of outboard motor

An outboard motor is equipped with an engine, an engine holder, an oil pan disposed below the engine in a state of the outboard motor being mounted to a hull, a water pump disposed below the oil pan, and a cooling water passage structure. The cooling water passage structure includes a vertical cooling water passage vertically passing through inside the oil pan and communicated with the side of the engine, a lateral cooling water passage extending in a lateral direction along a bottom surface of the oil pan, a cooling water supply pipe extending upward from the water pump and connected to a side of the engine, and a water pressure relief valve provided for the lateral cooling water passage for controlling a pressure increasing of the cooling water. The lateral cooling water passage has one end communicated with a lower end of the vertical cooling water passage and has another one end to which an upper end of the cooling water supply pipe is connected.

Cooling water passage structure of outboard motor

An outboard motor includes an engine holder, an engine disposed above the engine holder in an installed state of the outboard motor, a flywheel magnet device disposed above the engine, an oil filter disposed on a side portion of the engine, an electric equipment box, an air suction device, an exhaust device and a fuel supply device, these electric equipment box, suction device, exhaust device and fuel supply device being arranged around the engine, and an engine cover covering the engine. The air suction device is composed of a throttle body, a surge tank and an intake manifold including a plurality of branch members extending from the surge tank, the intake manifold is disposed vertically, in the installed state, on one side of the engine so that the intake manifold is located between the flywheel magnet device and the oil filter as viewed from a side portion thereof and the intake manifold has at least a portion superposed on the flywheel magnet device and the oil filter as viewed in a plan view. The electric equipment box and the exhaust device are disposed on another side of the engine opposing to the side on which the intake manifold is disposed.
