Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for ranking events. One of the methods includes receiving data identifying a physical location; obtaining data identifying a plurality of events occurring in the physical location during a particular time period; computing a respective plurality of signal scores for each of the events, wherein computing the respective plurality of signal scores for each of the events comprises computing a first signal score for each of the events based at least in part on a count of Internet sites that include at least one mention of the event; computing a respective popularity score for each of the plurality of events by combining the respective plurality of signal scores for the event; and generating a ranking of events occurring in the physical location during the particular time period based at least in part on the popularity scores.

Ranking events

A developing device includes a developing sleeve for carrying a developer for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member, a magnet for carrying the developer on the sleeve, and a regulating member for regulating an amount of the developer carried on the sleeve. Magnetic poles of the magnet are disposed so that a circumferential direction component of a magnetic force acting on a magnetic carrier of the developer contacting at least a part of an upstream regulating surface of the regulating member with respect to the direction of rotation of the sleeve is opposite from the direction of the rotation.

Developing device

A development apparatus includes a developer bearing member which develops a latent image, a first room supplying developer to the developer bearing member, and a second room connecting to the first room via opening portions formed at both ends of the first room, with the first room and the second room forming a circulation passage circulating the developer. In addition, a partition wall partitions the first room and the second room, a replenishment passage connects outside of the circulation passage and replenishes the developer, and a discharge port discharges surplus developer from the development container. A replenishing screw is arranged in the replenishment passage and conveys developer in a replenishing port toward the circulation passage, and a ventilation port is formed at a replenishing port side outside of the circulation passage of the first room or the second room or inside of the replenishment passage.

A developing apparatus includes a developer container, a developer carrying member for feeding developer to a position opposing an image bearing member to develop a latent image formed on the image bearing member; a first chamber, provided in the container, for supplying developer to the carrying member; a second chamber, provided adjacent to the first chamber; a first feeding member, provided in the first chamber, for feeding developer; a second feeding member, provided in the second chamber, for feeding developer in a direction opposite to a feeding direction of the first feeding member; a partition member provided between the first and second chambers; an opening provided in each of opposite ends of the partition member; and a sensor, provided between the first and second feeding members at a position facing one of the partition openings, for detecting information relating to temperature or moisture of developer in the container.

An insulating layer, a luminescent layer, a transparent electrode, base sheet with a transparent electrode formed thereon and a desiccant film are laminated in that order on the upper surface of a pointer body which also serves as a rear electrode. The upper surface of the dessiccant film is sealed with a moistureproof film. In producing a luminous pointer, these layers are laminated at a plurality of portions on the upper surface of a sheet which is to constitute pointer bodies, the pointer bodies are blanked along the outlines thereof by press working, and then the outside of the disiccant film is sealed with a moistureproof film. Alternatively, the outside of the desiccant film may be sealed with a moistureproof film before blanking the pointer bodies by press working.

A three-handed clock has a single movement to rotationally drive the second, minute and hour hands. The rotary output of the movement is transmitted directly to the second hand and is transmitted through a transmission belt to the minute and hour hands. The use of the transmission belt eliminates the need for a gear train to drive the minute and hour hands thereby providing greater design flexibility and ease of assembly and maintenance.

A miniaturized electromagnetic bell unit suitable for use with an alarm clock and the like is provided. The bell unit of the present invention is characterized in that it is miniaturized in such a way that a yoke to which a coil and a bell hammer are attached is incorporated within a bell and the bell is fixed to the yoke. Besides the simplicity of its structure, the advantages of the present invention are that the bell hammer can be adjusted in a simple manner through a hole drilled in the bottom of the bell; both the bell and the yoke are held fixed together simply and firmly such that a positioner is inserted into holes drilled correspondingly through the bell and the yoke while at the same time, an arm integrally extending from the yoke is fixed to a fixing member; and further, another hole is drilled in the bottom of the bell and one of two electrodes is inserted into the bell thorugh the hole while the other electrode is brought into contact with the outer surface of the bell whereby the yoke and the bell are spot-welded to each other simply and securely.

A miniaturized electromagnetic bell unit suitable for use with an alarm clock and the like is provided. Electromagnetic bell

A circuit unit including a plurality of lead frames which are made of a metal sheet and one of which is used for die-bonding an integrated circuit. The die-bonding lead member is formed to have at least a generally H-shaped portion constructed of a pair of parallel side portions and a connecting portion for connecting the two side portions for die-bonding the integrated circuit thereto. The remaining lead members are separated from said die-bonding one and have individual end portions positioned in the vicinity of the integrated circuit and connected electrically therewith by means of bonding wires. The die-bonding lead member and the remaining lead members are integrated either with a potting resin for protection the integrated circuit or with the potting resin and/or an insulating plate backing the potting resin. The aforementioned two side portions are fixed on a holding member. Also disclosed is a process for fabricating the aforementioned circuit unit.

The lead wire is drawn so as to traverse beyond a conductor to which it is to be attached, and the lead wire is anchored by an anchoring device so as to hold it against the conductor. The lead wire is then bonded to the conductor at the point of traverse.
