In an image processing apparatus, a sensor output data acquisition unit acquires data of layered image information from a sensor group. A slice image generation unit generates data of a two-dimensional image for each slice plane surfaces in which distribution is acquired. An image axis conversion unit generates similar data of a two-dimensional image for a plurality of plane surfaces that are perpendicular to an axis different from a sensor axis. A slice image management unit of a display processing unit manages a slice image that is used for drawing according to the position of a viewpoint or the like. In a head displacement measuring method, prior to actual data recording or data reproduction, either one of the recording head and the reproducing head is wobbled, and the test data is recorded in the disk-shaped recording medium by the recording head. Then, the test data is reproduced from the test data by the reproducing head, and displacement between the recording head and the reproducing head is detected on the basis of the reproduced test data. Thus, the displacement may be detected more easily with higher precision than with the conventional optical detecting method.

A magnetic disk drive device that includes a disk-shaped medium with a magnetic film formed on a surface for recording or reproducing information, and a magnetic head for recording on and reproducing information from the disk-shaped medium. The disk-shaped medium has a data recording region and a control signal recording region. The data recording region is impressed to have convex recording regions for recording data and concave guard bands for separating adjacent recording regions.
