A sealed terminal device for a motor-driven compressor has an electrically insulating terminal holder () to be attached to the housing wall () of the motor-driven compressor, a plurality of sealed terminals () held in the terminal holder (), for penetrating the housing wall () with play to the housing wall (), and a groove () or cavity () formed in the terminal holder () to increase a creepage distance for insulation between the sealed terminals.

An inverter-integrated electric compressor has a control device. The control device estimates a compressor suction pressure based on the temperature of the power element of the inverter, or directly measures the compressor suction pressure by a sensor, or estimates the compressor suction pressure based on a compressor suction temperature or on a compressor housing temperature. Further, the control device calculates a motor torque based on a motor rotational speed, a motor phase current, and a motor phase voltage, estimates a compressor discharge pressure based on the compressor suction pressure and the motor torque, and estimates a compressor discharge temperature based on the compressor suction pressure and the compressor discharge pressure. The electric compressor has a discharge temperature detection device in place of a conventional thermal protector.

Motor-driven compressor

A motor-driven compressor includes a motor and a compression portion for compressing a refrigerant. The motor-driven compressor comprises an input terminal for the motor and a drive circuit for controlling a rotation speed of the motor. The input terminal of the motor passes through an opening formed through a wall of a refrigerant suction route, whereby the input terminal is secured to the wall, and extends beyond the wall. The drive circuit controls the rotation speed of the motor and has an output connector. The output connector of the drive circuit is connected directly to the input terminal to secure the drive circuit to the wall. The direct connection eliminates a need for a wire connection between the output connector and the input terminal. Moreover, methods of assembling motor-driven compressors are disclosed.

Motor-driven compressors and methods of assembling motor-driven compressors

A motor-driven compressor is formed integrally with a compressor device for compressing refrigerant and a motor for driving the compressor device. The motor-driven compressor includes a drive circuit and a plurality of cooling fins. The drive circuit controls the operation of the motor. The drive circuit is provided on an outer surface of a wall of a refrigerant suction route. The plurality of cooling fins are formed on an inner surface of the wall of the refrigerant suction route. In such motor-driven compressors, the drive circuit may be sufficiently cooled without using cooling devices. As a result, providing cooling devices with the drive circuit in motor-driven compressors is no longer necessary.

Motor-driven compressors

A scroll-type compressor includes a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll each having an end plate and a spiral element. Each of the spiral elements interfits and form at least one pair of sealed-off fluid pockets. The fixed scroll is connected to a front housing. A driving mechanism includes a drive shaft rotatably supported by the front housing. A first and a second pin hole for aligning of the fixed scroll and the orbiting scroll are formed in an end surface of the spiral element of the fixed scroll and in an end surface of the front housing, respectively, and the first pin hole formed in the fixed scroll and the second pin hole formed in the front housing have different diameters. The configuration of the scroll-type fluid compressor according to this invention may be finely adjusted to align the fixed scroll and the orbiting scroll.

Scroll-type fluid displacement apparatus

A scroll-type compressor includes a fixed first scroll member, an orbital second scroll member, and a ball coupling provided as a rotation preventing mechanism for the second scroll member. The ball coupling has a pair of plates integrally formed with ring-like ball rolling grooves and a plurality of balls disposed therebetween. The compressor comprises a driven crank mechanism creating a swing motion for producing an orbital movement of the second scroll member. The amount of variation of the swing angle due to the driven crank mechanism is set within a range predetermined in accordance with a diameter of a ring form of each of the ring-like ball rolling grooves. The variation of the orbital radius of the orbital movement of the second scroll member corresponding to the swing angle may be regulated within a most appropriate range, thereby preventing occurrence of problems in the rotation preventing mechanism with respect to abrasion, performance and durability.

Scroll-type compressor

This invention provides a scroll type compressor employing an Oldham coupling producing little vibration or noise and in which components thereof are easy to produce by means of a lathe. The Oldham coupling blocks a rotation of a movable scroll member 4. A direction of a reciprocation of the Oldham coupling 16 coincides with a minor axis of an elliptic circulating orbit of the movable scroll member 4. When a total mass of the movable scroll member 4 and parts circulating elliptically together therewith is ma, a mass of an Oldham ring 16 is mb, a radius of a minor axis of an elliptic circulating orbit is R.sub.Y and a radius of a major axis of the elliptic circulating orbit is R.sub.X, a relation of R.sub.X =(1+mb/ma)R.sub.Y is established.
