A camera device () includes: an imaging unit () having a complementary color filter; a color temperature estimating unit () that estimates a color temperature on the basis of a video signal obtained from the imaging unit (); a color parameter calculating unit () that calculates a color parameter value corresponding to the estimated color temperature; and a color calibrating unit () that performs color calibration using the calculated color parameter value. The color parameter calculating unit () calculates the color parameter value corresponding to the estimated color temperature on the basis of color parameter values (a first color parameter value and a second color parameter value) at two reference color temperatures (a first color temperature 2000 K and a second color temperature 3200 K). This allows performing color calibration with high color reproducibility using suitable color parameter values according to a change in an illumination condition as well as allows substantially reducing an amount of data required to determine the suitable color parameter values.

A camera device is provided with an imager that outputs a long exposure signal and a short exposure signal within one field period; a knee processor that compresses a long exposure signal having the luminance level of a knee point or higher at a compression rate (i.e., decreases an inclination of an incident light amount-luminance level line, representing a variation in a luminance level with an amount of incident light); and a knee controller that adjusts the knee point and the compression rate according to a luminance level of a synthesized signal obtained by synthesizing the long exposure signal and the short exposure signal. In this knee control, the knee point decreases with an increase in the luminance level of the synthesized signal, and the inclination is adjusted to approach an original inclination thereof.

The present invention provides a monitoring camera apparatus which can measure camera installation height easily with a simple configuration. The monitoring camera apparatus includes a distance detecting unit and direction detecting unit. The distance detecting unit detects subject distance D to a subject using an autofocus function. The direction detecting unit detects a shooting direction &#x3b8; of the imaging unit rotated by a rotating mechanism. A height calculating unit calculates camera installation height H by converting the detected subject distance D into vertical length using the shooting direction &#x3b8; in which the subject distance D is detected.

Monitoring camera device

Disclosed is a moving object automatic tracking apparatus that includes a movement detector for detecting movement of a moving object from an image obtained in time series from an image input portion. A tracker tracks the moving object by controlling a platform of the image input portion in a direction of movement of the moving object based on a movement detection result of the movement detector. An area manager manages a registered preset position and new registration of a preset position indicating an area for executing tracking by the tracker and movement detection by the movement detector. A patrol monitor conducts monitoring while patrolling plural preset positions set and managed by the area manager, and when a position in which the moving object is tracked and lost differs from the initialized preset position, the lost position is newly added and registered as an adaptive preset position.
