A saddled vehicle includes an air cleaner and a vehicle body movement sensor. The air cleaner takes travel wind in an air cleaner box to purify air of the travel wind and supplies the purified air to an internal combustion engine. The vehicle body movement sensor is received in a recess and measures movement of a vehicle body. The recess is defined by a flat surface that crosses a rear wall of the air cleaner box. This provides a saddled vehicle including a vehicle body movement sensor that is disposed without reducing the volume of an air cleaner box.

A control apparatus includes a throttle configured to adjust an amount of air flowing in an intake passage of an engine, an accelerator opening sensor configured to detect an accelerator opening, a throttle opening sensor configured to detect an opening of the throttle, and a control unit configured to control the opening of the throttle. The control unit includes a setting unit configured to set a target opening and set a control amount of the throttle based on a deviation between the target opening and the opening detected by the throttle opening sensor, and a correction unit configured to, if the target opening is not more than a predetermined opening, set a correction amount of the control amount such that the opening of the throttle becomes large independently of the deviation.

A motorcycle includes: a front wheel brake that brakes a front wheel that is supported by a front fork; a rear wheel brake; a control unit that controls an ABS modulator connected to the front wheel brake and the rear wheel brake on the basis of front wheel speed and rear wheel speed; and a front wheel rise detection unit that detects whether the front wheel is likely to rise from a road surface, wherein when the front wheel rise detection unit detects that the front wheel is likely to rise, the control unit operates the front wheel brake through the ABS modulator.

A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine, includes: a throttle operator; an opening degree detector that detects an operation opening degree of the throttle operator; and an electronic control throttle device that opens and closes a throttle valve disposed in an intake passage of the engine, depending on the operation opening degree detected by the opening degree detector. A throttle valve opening degree of the throttle valve is set to include a zero output throttle opening degree angle at which an output of the engine becomes zero between a low rotational speed region and a high rotational speed region of the engine. The operation opening degree of the throttle operator corresponding to the zero output throttle opening degree angle is set to an opening-side angle ratio that falls within a range between 8% and 12%, both inclusive, with respect to a fully-open opening degree of the throttle operator.

Control apparatus for internal combustion engine

A device that can stably and accurately estimate the roll angle of a vehicle body during various states of movement of the vehicle body. A roll angle estimated value calculation portion calculates an estimated value of the roll angle by integrating a value obtained by correcting an estimated value of roll angle velocity of a vehicle body by use of a correction value, or by correcting a value obtained by integrating an estimated value of roll angle velocity by use of a correction value. The correction value is calculated by use of a detection value of speed of the vehicle body in the traveling direction, detection values of angular velocity and acceleration detected by sensors mounted on the vehicle body, a previous estimated value of the roll angle, and a previous estimated value of the pitch angle of the vehicle body.

A fuel injection amount calculation method calculates a fuel injection amount to an internal combustion engine of a vehicle. The method can include calculating a relative intake pressure which is a difference between an intake pressure peak of intake air upon intake starting of a cylinder of the internal combustion engine and an intake pressure bottom of the intake air upon intake ending. The method can also include calculating the fuel injection amount based on the relative intake pressure.

The time measuring section can measure a stop time of an engine, and can transmit information on the stop time to the controller when power to the controller is on. An electronic throttle control system and method are provided. The system includes a throttle valve, a motor configured to drive the throttle valve, and a throttle position sensor configured to detect an angle of the throttle valve. The system further includes an engine rotating speed detector, and a controller. The controller is configured to drive the motor to control the angle of the throttle valve. The controller is configured to initially set a lower limit value of the angle to an angle which is greater than a full closure angle of the throttle valve by a predetermined amount. The controller is further configured to, when a rise in an engine rotating speed is detected, re-set the lower limit value to reduce it by a predetermined amount to control the engine rotating speed to within a predetermined value from the preset idle speed.

Electronic throttle control system and method

Embodiments of the invention provide that an ignition is retarded when continuously occurring knocks are detected, while an ignition is not retarded when a singly occurring knock is detected. By detecting the number of occurrences of detection data pieces from a knock sensorstored in a storage unitin a predetermined time period, a distribution of the detection data pieces is created. When one detection data piece having a value not less than a knock determination value is inputted from the knock sensor, the distribution of the detection data pieces is checked. For example, when the detection data pieces spread in a wide range, or the knock level voltage of the total detection data pieces is not less than a predetermined value, a retard instruction is outputted.
