A resin composite having excellent tensile strength and a process for producing the composite are provided. The resin composite comprises a resin and aluminum hydroxide having an average primary-particle diameter of about 100 nm or smaller and has an index Y/X of 0.1 or less provided that the value X is an average intensity of intensities of aluminum characteristic X-ray measured by scanning a beam on a straight line on the composite with an electron-probe X-ray microanalyzer and the value Y is a standard deviation of the intensities.

Resin composite and method for producing the same

A resin composition, wherein the composition contains a thermoplastic resin and an aluminum-containing inorganic compound; the thermoplastic resin and the aluminum-containing inorganic compound form a parent phase and a dispersed phase, respectively; and the following inequality (1)0&#x3c;d&#x2266;&#x2212;0.0997 &#x3c6;+2.97&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)is satisfied, in which a wall-to-wall distance of the dispersed phases and a content of the aluminum-containing inorganic compound based on the weight of the resin composition are taken as d (&#x3bc;m) and &#x3c6; (% by weight), respectively; is produced by melt-blending a thermoplastic resin with an aluminum-containing inorganic compound powder having a BET specific surface area of from 30 to 500 m/g, a maximum particle diameter of not more than 20 &#x3bc;m, and a pore volume of pores having a radius of from 50 to 1000 nm measured by a mercury porosimetry of not less than 0.3 cm/g.

Process for producing resin composition using powder of aluminum-containing inorganic compound having specific BET surface area and pore volume and resin composition obtained according to said process

Disclosed herein is an aluminum hydroxide having specific characteristics, and a tire tread rubber composition and a pneumatic tire employing the aluminum hydroxide, which allow grip performance and abrasion resistance to increase and rolling resistance to decrease and are superior in processibility. The aluminum hydroxide has a loosed bulk density of not more than 0.60 g/cm , a DOP oil absorption of at least 70 cm /100 g and less than 250 cm /100 g, and a BET specific surface area of at least 30 m /g and less than 350 m /g. 5-150 parts by weight of the aluminum hydroxide is blended with 100 parts by weight of a rubber component to obtain the tire tread rubber composition. The rubber component preferably includes at least 60 parts by weight of styrene-butadiene rubber having a styrene content of 20-60% by weight.
