A printing service providing apparatus includes a display controller that performs control to display a setting screen on a printing device that a user uses for printing. The setting screen enables the user to select (i) a basic function that is commonly provided to printing devices compatible with a printing service that uses cloud computing and (ii) an application function which is other than the basic function and which is provided by the printing device that the user uses for printing among the printing devices compatible with the printing service which uses the cloud computing. The apparatus also includes a transmitting unit that transmits a print target file to the printing device that the user uses for printing, when a print attribute indicating contents of a print instruction is set from the setting screen.

A group of IT devices is divided into zones according to a predetermined condition. An IT managing server that manages the group of IT devices sends a control request for changing the state of IT devices included in one of the zones according to the state of those IT devices under its management. A facility managing server that manages a group of facility devices receives the control request and controls a facility device that exerts effect on the zone, which is specified as the control target in the control request.

A control device controls air-conditioning of a room having installed therein a plurality of pieces of equipment each being capable of drawing outside air to thereby cool down an interior of the equipment. A storage portion is capable of storing therein operating information that represents as to whether it is abnormal or not if each piece of equipment is put into a non-operating state. A printer controller generates pattern data to be printed by a printer engine for use in carrying out a tone adjusting process. The printer controller includes a memory which stores reference tone patterns and tone adjusting patterns, a selecting section for selecting a dot size of one of the reference tone patterns to be printed, the dot size being determined by a number of pixels forming each dot, and a generating section for generating and outputting to the printer engine the one of the reference tone patterns by the dot size selected by the selecting section and tone adjusting patterns having tones falling within a predetermined range with respect to a reference tone of the one of the reference tone patterns, based on the reference tone patterns and the tone adjusting patterns stored in the memory.

A high-density magnetic recording medium uses a nonmetallic substrate, while still providing high in-plane magnetic anisotropy and remanent coercivity. Such a medium can be formed by depositing a seed layer on a textured surface of the nonmetallic substrate in a gas mixture containing oxygen or nitrogen and an inert gas, while controlling the oxygen concentration or nitrogen concentration, and subsequently exposing the surface of the seed layer to oxygen or nitrogen.

An imaging apparatus is disclosed which comprises a first image signal generation section generating a first image signal in a first exposure time, a second image signal generation section generating a second image signal in a second exposure time, an image combining section combining the first and second image signals into a composite image signal, an integrated value calculation circuit determining the average luminance values of the first and second image signals, a peak value detection circuit detecting the peak values of the first and second image signals, an exposure time control section responsive to the integrated value and the peak value controlling the first and second exposure times, and a gain control circuit controlling the amplitude of each of the first and second image signals to be applied to the image combining section individually.

A ratio of an in-plane remanent magnetization in a circumferential direction of the magnetic recording medium to an in-plane remanent magnetization in a radial direction of the magnetic recording medium is equal to or greater than 1.05.

Magnetic recording medium and method of manufacturing the same

An image forming apparatus lessens the sense of incongruity between CMY mixture gray and K monochrome gray so as to achieve an easy color adjustment. An adjustment sheet is printed by the image forming apparatus. The adjustment sheet has a reference pattern and a plurality of test patterns. The reference pattern indicates a reference concentration of gray and the test patterns indicates concentrations of gray within a predetermined concentration range including the reference concentration. The gray of the test patterns is a mixture of cyan, magenta, yellow and black. The gray of the reference pattern is monochromatic black. The test patterns are visually compared with the reference pattern so as to select one of the test patterns of which concentration matches the concentration of the reference pattern. The concentration of gray is adjusted in accordance with the concentration of the selected one of test patterns.

A ratio C of sonic speed in a fluid to a sinusoidal value at an incident angle of sonic waves from the pipe to the fluid is designated as a basic unknown quantity. A distance D between the opposite inner wall surfaces of the pipe, a thickness t.sub.p of the pipe wall, a projection length t.sub.w of sound rays in the oblique wedge projected onto a plane orthogonal to the center axis of the pipe, and sonic speed C.sub.w, C.sub.p in the oblique wedge and the pipe wall are used as given values. A propagation time .tau. of ultrasonic waves through the oblique wedge and the pipe wall is treated as a variable. The value C is determined in course of calculating a projection length L of sound rays between the ultrasonic transducers projected onto the center axis of the pipe by a gradual approximation, which is determined as a given value. Then, a refraction angle .theta..sub.f of sonic waves from the pipe wall to the fluid and a propagation time .tau. of ultrasonic waves through the oblique wedge of the ultrasonic transducer are determined based on the value C. These values and a propagation time of ultrasonic waves between the ultrasonic transducers obtained by a measurement are applied to a basic equation to derive a flow velocity of the fluid in the pipe at temperature and pressure under a service condition.

Clamp-on type ultrasonic flow meter and a temperature and pressure

A displacement converter in which a pressure difference is determined by detecting capacitances C1 and C2 between fixed electrodes 3,4 and a diaphragm 1, which receives pressure differences on both of its sides and can be displaced. The pressure difference is output as a process-unified signal via a V/I converter 209. This eliminates the need for tedious adjustments involving hardware such as a compensation capacitor in order to compensate the floating capacitance in capacitances C1, C2, which is unrelated to diaphragm displacement. Instead, calibration is simplified without decreasing measurement precision.
