An ECU independently controls power supply to two winding systems in a motor on a per-winding-system basis based on current command values each calculated for a corresponding winding system in accordance with a target assist torque. When a first winding system fails, the ECU transitions from a first state in which the ECU causes the winding groups of the two winding systems to produce the target assist torque to a second state in which the ECU causes the winding group of the other normal winding system to produce the target assist torque. If the current command value for the normal winding system is equal to or below a current threshold value that is set with reference to zero or a value close to zero when the failed winding system recovers to its normal state in the second state, the ECU transitions from the second state to the first state.

Vehicle control apparatus

A vehicle control apparatus capable of protecting a pre-charge circuit is provided. When a voltage has entered an operating voltage range, a microcomputer determines whether a preset period has elapsed from then. Upon determining that the preset period has elapsed, the microcomputer starts initial check. To carry out the initial check, the microcomputer starts charging a capacitor for power supply stabilization of a drive circuit by turning on the pre-charge circuit and, when the charging of the capacitor is completed, turns on a power supply relay provided on a power supply line that connects between a battery and the drive circuit.

A first microcomputer is configured to identify the cause (a content of the abnormality) of a communication abnormality based on a combination of whether communication through a first communication line is established, whether communication through a second communication line is established, and whether a second clock is normal. Specifically, the first microcomputer separately determines whether the communication abnormality between the first microcomputer and a second microcomputer is simply due to an abnormality in the first communication line and the second communication line, or due to stop of a function of the second microcomputer. The second microcomputer is configured to identify the cause of the communication abnormality based on a combination of whether the communication through the first communication line is established, whether the communication through the second communication line is established, and whether a first clock is normal.

Motor control device

When one of two winding systems fails, an ECU transitions from a first state in which a target assist torque is produced using winding groups of the two winding systems to a second state in which using the remaining normal winding system. When the failed winding system has recovered to normal during an operation in the second state, the ECU carries out initial check that is inspection of the winding system recovered to normal prior to starting the power supply as follows. The ECU omits, from items of the initial check of the winding system recovered to normal, a specific item that is set as an item susceptible to an induced voltage generated in the winding group of the winding system recovered to normal as the motor is driven using the winding group of the normal winding system and carries out only the remainder items of the initial check.

Provided is a vehicle control system that appropriately performs synchronization control for a plurality of control systems. A monitoring circuit generates a command signal when only a first reset signal is input. The monitoring circuit generates a command signal when the state in which only the first reset signal is input is changed to the state in which the input of the first reset signal is stopped. With the command signal, a second clock signal is output to a timer generator as a second timing signal. With the command signal, the second clock signal generated by a second synchronization signal generating circuit is output to a first synchronization signal generating circuit, and a third clock signal generated by the first synchronization signal generating circuit is output to a timer generator as a first timing signal.

Vehicle control system

A rotation detection apparatus, a rotation angle detection apparatus are provided which allow appropriate detection of an abnormality in a portion that detects rotation of a rotating shaft. A first arithmetic circuit calculates a rotating direction and a number of rotations of the rotating shaft based on a change in a combination of positivity and negativity of a first electric signal (first sine signal) and a third electric signal (first cosine signal). A second arithmetic circuit calculates a rotating direction and a number of rotations of the rotating shaft based on a change in a combination of positivity and negativity of a second electric signal (second sine signal) and a fourth electric signal (second cosine signal). An abnormality determination circuit determines whether each of the first and second arithmetic circuits and is abnormal based on the two rotating directions and calculated by the first and second arithmetic circuits respectively.

Rotation detection apparatus, rotation angle detection apparatus, and electric power steering system

A motor control device includes a motor drive circuit and a microcomputer that controls the drive circuit. The microcomputer generates a control signal on the basis of duty command values Du, Dv, and Dw to control the drive circuit. The microcomputer includes a dead time compensation section that corrects the duty command values Du, Dv, and Dw on the basis of dead time compensation values Ddu, Ddv, and Ddw. The dead time compensation section includes a basic compensation value computation section that computes a basic compensation value Dd as a fundamental value of the dead time compensation values Ddu, Ddv, and Ddw, and a filter section that performs a filtering process corresponding to a low-pass filter on the basic compensation value Dd. The dead time compensation section sets the dead time compensation values Ddu, Ddv, and Ddw on the basis of an output value &#x3b1; from the filter section.

Motor control device and electric power steering device

A sensor device, such as a torque sensor, of a motor control device or an electric power steering apparatus includes a sensor section that detects a quantity of state of a detection subject and outputs a detection signal corresponding to the detected quantity of state. When receiving a specific trigger transmitted from an external device, the sensor section outputs an abnormality diagnosis signal, which is configured by a predetermined waveform and used for determining whether there is an output abnormality of the sensor section, and then outputs the detection signal.

Sensor device, motor control device, and electric power steering apparatus

In a state in which the energization in the first direction is possible between the motor and the drive circuit and the motor is not rotating at high speed, when the phase induced voltage value of the specific phase that is the target of determination is continuously equal to or smaller than the abnormality determination threshold, the abnormality detecting unit determines that an open malfunction has occurred in the relay FET of the specific phase.

Motor control device and steering device for vehicle

A steering control system for a vehicle includes an electric motor, a torque sensor, an angular velocity sensor, and a control unit. The electric motor applies assist force to a turning operation of a steering wheel. The torque sensor detects a torque generated in a steering system including the steering wheel and varying with the turning operation. The angular velocity sensor detects an angular velocity generated in the steering system and varying with the turning operation. The control unit computes an assist control amount for the turning operation by using the torque and the angular velocity, and, when an abnormality occurs in a torque detection operation, increases a control amount computed by using the angular velocity among control amounts that constitute the assist control amount as compared to that when torque sensor operation is normal and executes drive control over the electric motor based on the assist control amount.

Steering control system for vehicle and steering control method for vehicle

There is provided a drive control method for a motor including multiple sets of coils and drive circuits in an electric power steering system. In order to reduce computational load when sensorless control is executed, an electrical angle estimator includes an &#x3b1;-axis voltage component adder and a &#x3b2;-axis voltage component adder that add together voltage vectors of a first coil and a second coil expressed in a two-phase fixed coordinate system, an &#x3b1;-axis current component adder and a &#x3b2;-axis current component adder that add together current vectors of the first coil and the second coil expressed in a two-phase fixed coordinate system, and an induced voltage computing unit that computes an induced voltage based on an added voltage vector and an added current vector.

Electric power steering system

A motor control apparatus includes a plurality of voltage detecting sections configured to each detect a terminal voltage of one of phases of a brushless motor, and a control section configured to control driving of the motor. The control section takes in, via separate signal lines, detection signals of the voltage detecting sections. When the condition that any two of terminal voltage detection values of respective phases obtained from the detection signals of the voltage detecting sections are continuously equal to each other is satisfied, the control section determines that a short circuit has occurred between any of the signal lines.

In a motor control unit, a current-carrying failure detection unit determines a first determination condition and a second determination condition. The current-carrying failure detection unit measures a duration of a state where the first determination condition is satisfied, and a duration of a state where the second determination condition is satisfied. When the first or second duration exceeds a predetermined reference period, the current-carrying failure detection unit determines that a current-carrying failure has occurred.

A motor controller and an electric power steering system including the motor controller are provided. The motor controller has a microcomputer. When the on time of one of the lower potential-side FETs corresponding to the respective phases in a drive circuit becomes shorter than the detection time for detecting the phase current value, the microcomputer estimates the phase current value of the electric current undetectable phase based on the phase current values of the two phases other than the electric current undetectable phase corresponding to the relevant FET (blind estimation). When electric current detection is performed in the blind estimation, motor control signals are output, by which the switching state of the switching arm of the electric current undetectable phase is maintained and the power loss caused by the switching operation of the FETs in the two phases other than the electric current undetectable phase is compensated for.
