The purpose of the invention is to provide a battery pack and a power tool on which the same can be detachably mounted such that compatibility can be ensured even if the dimensions of the battery cells therefor are changed, as well as a battery pack and power tool set. A second battery pack is provided with second battery cells, a second case which houses the second battery cells, a second latch portion for mounting the second battery pack to the power tool, and a second latch operating portion. The second battery pack has a larger case width than that of a specified battery pack for housing battery cells shorter than the second battery cells. However, as the rail width is the same, the second battery pack can be detachably mounted to the power tool in place of the specified battery pack.

A chainsaw having improved cutting workability is provided. A chainsaw is used to cut an object to be worked by a saw chain. A chainsaw main body is provided with an electric motor and a sprocket, and a guide bar around which the saw chain is wound is provided on the chainsaw main body. The guide bar is attached to the chainsaw main body by a screw member serving as an attaching member. A load sensor detects whether or not the guide bar is attached to the chainsaw main body. Rotation of the saw chain is prohibited based upon a signal from the load sensor when the guide bar is not attached to the chainsaw main body.

A chainsaw in which a remaining amount of chain oil to be supplied to a saw chain can be easily checked is provided. In a chainsawincluding: a saw chaindriven by a motor embedded in a main body; and an oil tankin which the chain oil to be supplied to the saw chainin wood cutting process is stored, an illumination unit (LED) is provided in vicinity of the oil tank. In this manner, the chain oil of the oil tankpositioned on a left side of the LEDcan be illuminated. This illumination unit is configured to be used also as an illuminating device for illuminating the vicinity of the saw chain, that is, an area indicated by dotted lines fromto. According to the present invention, in a dark location, the remaining amount of the chain oil can be checked, and besides, a positional relationship among the chainsawmain body, the saw chain, and the periphery thereof can be easily visually checked, so that the working efficiency can be improved.

A chain saw includes: a motor driven by electric power; a housing configured to accommodate the motor; a guide bar attached to the housing; a chain blade wound around the guide bar; a sprocket engaged with the chain blade to drive the chain blade, wherein the chain saw is configured to transmit a driving force of the motor to the sprocket via a clutch mechanism, wherein the chain saw comprises a shut-off switch for detecting an actuation of the clutch mechanism and is configured such that the power supply to the motor is stopped when the actuation of the clutch mechanism is detected by the shut-off switch so as to brake electrically. The electrical brake is provided together with a mechanical brake that is configured to work when a hand guard is rotated.

Chain saw

A cover which covers outer peripheries of fastening screws are disposed on an outer periphery of a hammer case. A stopper which detachably positions and fixes the cover to the outer periphery of the hammer case is disposed.
