Rotary synchronous machine includes a stator and a rotor. The stator includes a magnetic field core and an armature core magnetically separated from each other. The rotor includes a plurality of magnetic substance segments which are magnetically separated from each other in a direction of rotation but are magnetically coupled with both of the magnetic field core and armature core. The rotor and magnetic field core are arranged to cause an axial thrust to the rotor depending on the intensity of electric currents passed through filed windings. Namely, the rotor and magnetic field core are arranged in such a manner that magnetic attraction (magnetic coupling) occurs between the rotor and the magnetic field core in a same direction as a rotational axis or at a predetermined non-normal angle relative to the rotational axis. Thus, thrust is produced based on the magnetic attraction between the rotor and the magnetic field core, and this thrust corresponds to the intensity of the electric currents passed through filed windings. Consequently, a traveling position of the rotor in the axial direction can be controlled by providing the magnetic field cores adjacent to opposite sides of the rotor and appropriately controlling the intensity of the filed currents.

Thrust-controllable rotary synchronous machine

A drive motor has a shaft supported by a casing to be rotatable and movable in the axial direction over a predetermined stroke. A portion of the shaft is utilized in order to form a rotary motor section for rotating the shaft, and another portion of the shaft is utilized in order to form an electromagnetic plunger section for moving the shaft in the axial direction. The rotary motor section and the electromagnetic plunger section are integrally built in the casing. The drive motor is used in a drive apparatus for a pre-plasticization-type injection molding machine. The front end of the shaft is connected to the rear end of a screw disposed within a barrel of a plasticizing unit of molding machine. Through axial movement of the shaft, a resin passage of the barrel is opened and closed by a valve portion provided at the front end of the screw.

Drive motor and drive apparatus for a molding machine

A molding machine includes a drive unit which, in turn, includes comprises a rotary motor and a thrust generator. The rotary motor includes a shaft which is rotatable and axially movable. The shaft is connected to a movable body so as to rotate the movable body by the rotary motor and to reciprocate the movable body by the thrust generator. Thus, the drive unit is substantially composed of a single rotary motor which functions for rotating and reciprocating the movable body, such as a screw.

Molding machine

Linear motor includes a moving member tapered relative to a traveling direction to provide a surface slanted relative to the traveling direction toward one end of the moving member, a stator having a surface that is opposed to the slanted surface of the first member and slanted relative to the traveling direction at an angle corresponding to the slanted angle of the slanted surface of the moving member, a field pole producing section for producing field poles on the slanted surface of the moving member, and an armature section provided on the stator and including armature windings so as to produce electromagnetic poles corresponding to electric currents passed through the armature windings. Thus, the moving member is caused to move relative to the stator, by exciting the armature windings to produce a linearly moving magnetic field. Due to the tapered configuration, magnetic attraction produced between the moving member and the armature core is partly split in the traveling direction, which leads to an increased thrust.

Linear motor

A molding machine includes a drive unit for linearly moving a movable body, such as a movable platen of a clamping apparatus. The drive unit includes a linear motor. The linear motor includes a linear movement body having moving-side magnetic-pole portions and supported in an axially movable manner, and a stationary body having stationary-side magnetic-pole portions adapted to linearly move the linear movement body. The linear movement body is connected to the movable body (movable platen). The linear movement body has moving-side inclined surfaces on which part of the moving-side magnetic-pole portions are disposed. The stationary body has stationary-side inclined surfaces which face the moving-side inclined surfaces and on which part of the stationary-side magnetic-pole portions are disposed.

A molding machine includes a drive unit for rotating and linearly moving a movable body. The drive unit includes a linear motor and a rotary motor. The linear motor includes a linear movement body having moving-side magnetic-pole portions and supported in an axially movable manner and a stationary body having stationary-side magnetic-pole portions adapted to linearly move the linear movement body. The linear movement body has moving-side inclined surfaces on which part of the moving-side magnetic-pole portions are disposed. The stationary body has stationary-side inclined surfaces which face the moving-side inclined surfaces and on which part of the stationary-side magnetic-pole portions are disposed. The rotary motor is incorporated into the linear movement body and is adapted to rotate an output shaft connected to the movable body.

A magnetic field core and armature core are provided on a rotor in spaced-apart relation to each other. Windings for producing rotating magnetic poles are positioned on the magnetic field core, and armature windings are positioned on the armature core. The rotor includes a plurality of magnetic sections which are magnetically coupled with the magnetic field core and armature core, but the magnetic sections are magnetically separated from each other in a direction of rotation of the rotating magnetic poles. Magnetic poles produced on the rotor will be coupled together through a magnetic path formed by the rotor and armature core. Thus, by passing three-phase alternating currents, corresponding to the magnetic poles produced on the rotor, through the armature windings, torque is developed in accordance with the Fleming's rule, so that the rotor is caused to rotate as a motor at a synchronous speed. Only the intensities of the currents flowing through the field and armature windings have to be controlled, in order to control the intensity of this torque. By causing the rotor to rotate via external drive force and passing filed currents corresponding on a rotating position of the rotor, induced electromotive force is developed in the armature windings, so that the synchronous machine operates as a generator.
