In a rocking vehicle, a front wheel suspension device suspends a front wheel in an upwardly displaceable manner due to a reaction force from a road surface. The rocking vehicle includes a cushion support arm, on a body frame side, including a cushion support portion of the front wheel suspension device, and a rigidity adjustment device which is extended between plural portions of the cushion support arm. The rigidity adjustment device applies a pre-tension to the cushion support arm, and the pre-tension generates a pre-force component in the cushion support portion in the same direction as the upward moving direction of the front wheel due to a reaction force of the front wheel from the road surface.

In a motorcycle having an air intake passage guiding an air flow to an internal combustion engine is formed between an upper surface of a front fender and a bottom plate of a front cowl covering a head pipe from the front and disposed just above a front wheel. The cooling performance of a heat exchanger disposed behind the front wheel and in front of an engine body is improved with a decrease in the air resistance by lowering the position of the front cowl. At least a part of an air intake duct is disposed above a front fender for supplying the air guided from an air flow inlet provided on the front end portion of a front cowl to an inlet system of an internal combustion engine. At least a part of the air intake duct forming a rear air intake passage is contained in the front cowl.

A failure diagnosis apparatus for diagnosing a failure of an evaporative fuel processing system. A pressure in the evaporative fuel processing system is detected, and a purge control valve and a vent shut valve are closed when stoppage of the engine is detected. A determination is made as to whether there is a leak in the evaporative fuel processing system based on the detected pressure during a predetermined determination period after closing of the purge control and vent shut valves.

An atmosphere-vented valve (a pressure relief section) is opened in a predetermined amount so as to reduce an inside pressure of a canister to a predetermined negative pressure (S) while preventing an inside pressure in a fuel tank from becoming an excessively negative pressure by closing a charge passageway opening and closing valve (S), and purging is controlled while the canister inside pressure is being reduced, whereby from a similar principle to that of vacuum distillation, the release of vaporized fuel from an absorbent is promoted so as not only to increase the purge efficiency but also to prevent the application of an unnecessary stress to the fuel tank.

System and method for vaporized fuel processing

A failure diagnosis apparatus for diagnosing a failure of an evaporative fuel processing system. The system includes a fuel tank, a canister having adsorbent for adsorbing evaporative fuel generated in the fuel tank, an air passage connected to the canister and communicating the canister with the atmosphere, a first passage for connecting the canister and the fuel tank, a second passage for connecting the canister and an intake system of an internal combustion engine, a vent shut valve for opening and closing the air passage, and a purge control valve provided in the second passage. A pressure in the evaporative fuel processing system is detected. Negative pressure in the intake system is reserved in a negative pressure reservoir during operation of the engine. The purge control valve and the vent shut valve are closed to introduce the reserved negative pressure into the evaporative fuel processing system, when stoppage of the engine is detected. It is determined whether or not there is a leak in the evaporative fuel processing system, based on the pressure detected during a predetermined determination period after introduction of the negative pressure.
