A surface mount pulse transformer has a drum type core including a core and first and second flanges disposed on both ends of the core and installed on a substrate and a primary winding wire and a secondary winding wire wound around the core and provided with an intermediate tap, respectively, wherein first and second terminal electrodes being connected to each of both ends of the primary winding wire and a third terminal electrode for connecting being connected to the intermediate tap of the secondary winding wire are disposed on the surface of the first flange and a fourth terminal electrode being connected to the intermediate tap of the primary winding wire and fifth and sixth terminal electrodes being connected to each of both ends of the secondary winding wire are disposed on the surface of the second flange.

Surface mount pulse transformer and method and apparatus for manufacturing the same

A pair of flangesare formed on both ends of a spoolof a bobbin, and an insulation layerformed by heat curing an interlayer insulation prepreg tapeis formed on the external periphery of the spool. A primary coilis wound on the external periphery of the insulation layer, and a secondary coilis wound on the external periphery of the primary coil. Insulation layersare provided respectively between the primary coiland the secondary coil, and on the external periphery of the secondary coil. Insulation layersformed by heat curing an inner wall insulation prepreg tapeare provided on mutually opposed facesA of the paired flanged, and such insulations layersandhave a mutually linked structure.

Transformer

In a split bobbin designed to be rotatably mountable on a core and attached to a bobbin holding base after specific winding of coils, the split bobbin has collars at least at its both ends and cutout sections at least at two places in the outer periphery of these collars. In these cutout sections are provided lead terminal holding holes of specific depth in which rod-like lead terminals can be inserted. Furthermore, the present invention provides a coil device which includes a split bobbin having coil winding areas, winding end fastening members provided on an outer periphery, and collars provided with through holes connected to the winding end fastening members; a core produced of a magnetic material with the bobbin mounted in a split state; a winding wound on the bobbin in the winding areas, with its end wound on the winding end fastening members; and a bobbin holding base which supports the bobbin and the coil in a fitted state, and has lead terminals routed in the through holes of the collars to the winding end fastening members. In this winding end fastening members, the end of the coil is connected with the lead terminals.
