A shaft body for a pencil lead (including a color pencil lead) or a shaft body for a cosmetic such as a rod-shaped cosmetic including an eye liner, an eyebrow pencil, or an eye shadow, which has the same ease of shaving as a conventional wood shaft and has a low impact on the environment. The shaft body for a pencil or a cosmetic according to the present disclosure is a shaft body for a pencil or a cosmetic constituted by coating a pencil lead or a rod-shaped cosmetic with a shaft body material composition, and the shaft body material composition contains at least a naturally-derived constitutional material and a naturally-derived binder.

Provided is an erasing tool which produces no eraser crumbs and allows a progress for adsorption of even a light color of color pencil leads and the like to be recognized at a glance and which makes it possible to surely erase the color of color pencil lead and has a high light transmittance. The erasing tool is characterized by containing a secondary aggregate having a diameter of 1 to 100 &#x3bc;m with a petaloid particle as a primary particle.

Provided are an erasing member which is excellent in erasability for handwritings written by means of a pencil, a mechanical pencil and the like and which does not produce eraser dusts, and an erasing tool in which a part to be erased can be visually recognized in erasing.The erasing member comprises a blend composition containing a liquid-absorbing porous material, and a basic magnesium carbonate porous material and the like can be used as the liquid-absorbing porous material. And in an erasing tool in which an erasing part is formed at one end and in which a transparent or translucent visible part making it possible to visually recognize a writing surface is provided in the vicinity of the erasing part, the erasing member described above is mounted to the erasing part, whereby the erasing tool which does not produce eraser dusts is obtained.

In a pencil lead manufactured through a baking step regardless of being a black lead or a colored lead, the mechanical strength of the pencil lead is further increased by coating a surface thereof with a resin. A pencil lead includes a baked lead body whose surface is covered by a covering layer made of resin that has a scratch hardness of HB or greater. The scratch hardness of the resin as a subject resin is defined as a lowest hardness index of a tester pencil that is able to form an indentation on a surface of a horizontal flat plate coated with a 5-&#x3bc;m thick film of the subject resin, when the surface is scratched by the tester pencil being pressed onto the surface at an angle of 45&#xb0; with a load of 7.355 N.

Pencil lead

A pencil lead includes an organic-inorganic hybrid resin inside fine pores of a porous lead body. A colorant may also be included inside the fine pores. The organic-inorganic hybrid resin is preferably a silica-organic hybrid resin.

Provided is a color pencil lead which is excellent in a hue, a light resistance and a strength and can be erased with an eraser and which is suited to pencil leads for mechanical pencils and wooden pattern holder pencils. The above color pencil lead is characterized by containing a resin in which a dye is dissolved or included in a pencil lead body.

Provided is a writing instrument suited to ballpoint pens, marking pens and the like in which a flow pressure of an ink applied to a pen tip is controlled to a fixed level to prevent an ink direct flow phenomenon reverse flow phenomenon. The above writing instrument comprises a pen tip disposed at a front part of an ink tank, an ink received in the ink tank, a follower filled at a rear part of the ink, and a capillary porous member provided with a capillary force, which is arranged at a space part between a rear part of the follower and a rear end part of the ink tank in a state in which the follower is filled, wherein the pen tip is sealed when a cap is put on the writing instrument.

A pencil lead containing flake graphite which has an ab face having a flatness of at least 2 &#x3bc;m or less and in which an aspect ratio of an a axis or a b axis in the ab face to a c axis is 5 or more is provided with a structure in which nanoparticles having a mv value of 0.05 to 2 based on 100 of a volume average diameter (mv value) of the graphite and having a sphericity of 0.1 to 20 nm or nanoparticles having a mv value of 0.05 to 2 based on 100 of a volume average diameter (mv value) of the graphite and having a specific surface area of 200 to 600 m/g are brought into contact with the ab face of the graphite or a structure in which they are adhered to the ab face of the graphite.
