To perform the borderless image recording, the controller performs, when a medium length is equal to or less than a particular length, a first enlargement process to enlarge an image to a size with a first overhang area by which the enlarged image extends beyond an image recording target area, the first overhang area having an overhang width of a first value. The controller further performs, when the medium length is not equal to or less than the particular length, a second enlargement process to enlarge the image to a size with a second overhang area by which the enlarged image extends beyond the image recording target area, the second overhang area having an overhang width of a second value smaller than the first value.

An image forming apparatus having a first container, a second container, an image forming device, a medium conveyer, a command acquiring device, and a controller, is provided. When a length of the medium to be conveyed is equal to or smaller than a first predetermined length, the controller controls the medium conveyer to convey the medium from the first container and the image forming device to perform an image forming operation on one of a first side and a second side of the medium, and, after the medium is accommodated in the second container in an orientation with the other of the first side and the second side to be used as the image-formable side, control the medium conveyer to convey the medium from the second container and control the image forming device to perform the image forming operation to the medium conveyed from the second container.

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes an ejection head including a plurality of nozzles communicating with a pressure chamber and an actuator configured to apply pressure on liquid stored in the pressure chamber, a carriage, a storage storing information relating to a first timing when a non-ejecting flashing operation is started, and a controller. The actuator applies pressure on the liquid in the pressure chamber in the non-ejecting flashing operation so as to vibrate, without ejecting, the liquid in the plurality of nozzles of the ejection head, while the carriage is decreased in speed so as to be stopped. The controller is configured to select, based on status information, one of the first timing and a second timing, and start the non-ejecting-flashing operation at the selected timing while the carriage is decreased in speed so as to be stopped.

An image forming device performs image formation on a medium selected by a computer. When a cutting device is unusable, a long sheet-type medium accommodated in a first medium container is unusable. However, a conveyance passage used for conveying a short sheet-type medium is usable in at least one of a first state where the cutting device is unusable or a second state where the sheet-type medium is unable to pass through the cutting device. A necessary condition to make both the long sheet-type medium and the short sheet-type medium selectable includes the detector detecting neither the first status nor the second status. A necessary condition to make the long sheet-type medium unselectable and make the short sheet-type medium selectable includes the detector detecting one of the first status and the second status.

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes an ejection head, a carriage, a conveyor and a controller configured to, when it is determined that the state of the ejection is in a first state, execute a first printing process and, when it is determined that the state of the ejection is in a second state, execute a second printing process. The print controller generates print data based on non-overlapping range data and overlapping range data. A control system is configured such that a carriage that a processing head is mounted is driven by a motor and reciprocates. The motor is controlled by a controller. The controller reciprocates the carriage by selecting a control mode as a target mode based on temperature information related to temperature of the motor and controlling the motor in the target mode. The controller is configured to determine, prior to conducting the forward scanning action, whether a deceleration range corresponding to the deceleration distance in the forward scanning action coincides with a discharging range in the forward scanning action. In a case where the controller determines that the deceleration range coincides with the discharging range, the controller is configured to conduct the backward scanning action, without conducting the forward scanning action, based on partial image data being a part of the image data corresponding to the forward scanning action.

A controller of a liquid ejection device is configured to receive a preparation signal instructing preparation to eject the liquid, the preparation signal being externally issued upon issuance of an ejection instruction to eject the liquid toward a target medium. The controller is configured to start receiving ejection data after the preparation signal is received, the ejection data being externally transmitted on condition that the ejection instruction is issued and after the preparation signal is issued. The controller is configured to control the liquid ejection head to eject the liquid toward the target medium through the multiple nozzles based on the ejection data. After receiving the preparation signal and before receipt of the ejection data is completed, the controller is configured to control the liquid ejection head to eject liquid through the multiple nozzles and examine at least a part of the nozzles for ejection-defectiveness based on the determination signal.
