To provide a fluorinated elastic copolymer excellent in adhesion, processability, mechanical properties, heat resistance and chemical resistance. A fluorinated elastic copolymer having units based on a monomer (a), units based on a monomer (b) and optionally units based on a monomer (c), which has an iodine atom bonded to a terminal of a molecular chain and the unit based on the monomer (b) adjacent to the iodine atom, and which has a proportion of the units based on the monomer (b) of from 0.09 to 2.0 mol % to all units. Monomer (a): monomer selected from the group consisting of tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, vinylidene fluoride, chlorotrifluoroethylene, a perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) and 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene; monomer (b): a monomer having at least one type of functional group selected from the group consisting of an epoxy group, a hydroxy group, a carbonyl group-containing group and an isocyanate group; monomer (c): a monomer selected from the group consisting of ethylene and propylene.

Fluorinated elastic copolymer, and method for producing fluorinated elastic copolymer

A covered electric wire has a core wire and a covering material made of a composition applied around the core wire. The covering material is a melt-moldable resin composition. The resin composition may be a fluororesin composition that includes a fluorinated elastomer and a melt-moldable fluororesin. The fluorinated elastomer can be dispersed in the fluororesin. The resin composition has a volume change after being immersed in an automatic transmission fluid at 165&#xb0; C. for 70 hours of at most 10%, flexural modulus of at most 200 MPa, a rate of the change in tensile elongation after 2,000 hours of a thermal exposure test in the air at 200&#xb0; C. of at most 30%, and a melting point of at least 215&#xb0; C.

Covered electric wire

To provide a fluorinated elastic copolymer capable of obtaining a crosslinked rubber which is excellent in tensile strength and has a low compression set under high temperature conditions; a method for producing such a fluorinated elastic copolymer; a crosslinked rubber; and a method for producing such a crosslinked rubber. A fluorinated elastic copolymer having structural units based, respectively, on monomers (a), (b) and (c), and further having iodine atoms. Monomer (a): at least one member selected from the group consisting of tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, vinylidene fluoride, chlorotrifluoroethylene and perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether). Monomer (b): at least one member selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by formula (I): CRR&#x2550;CR&#x2014;R&#x2014;CR&#x2550;CRR(I) (wherein R, R, R, R, Rand Rare each independently a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom or a methyl group; and Ris a Cperfluoroalkylene group which may have an etheric oxygen atom inserted between carbon atoms). Monomer (c): at least one member selected from the group consisting of ethylene and propylene.

Fluorinated elastic copolymer, method for its production, crosslinked rubber and method for its production

To provide a fluorinated elastomer composition which is excellent in flexibility, heat resistance and flame retardance, and a molded product, cross-linked product and covered electric wire, using such a fluorinated elastomer composition. A fluorinated elastomer composition comprising a tetrafluoroethylene/propylene copolymer (a), an ethylene/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (b), an ethylene copolymer (c) containing epoxy groups and a flame retardant (d), wherein the mass ratio [(a)/(b)] of (a) to (b) is from 70/30 to 40/60, the mass ratio [(b)/(c)] of (b) to (c) is from 100/0.1 to 100/10, and the content of (d) is from 0.1 to 30 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the total content of (a), (b) and (c).

Fluorinated elastomer composition and method for its production, molded product, cross-linked product, and covered electric wire

To provide a fluorinated elastomer composition which is excellent in heat discoloration resistance and moldability, and a molded product, cross-linked product and covered electric wire, using such a fluorinated elastomer composition. A fluorinated elastomer composition comprising a fluorinated rubber (a) and a fluorinated copolymer (b), wherein the fluorinated copolymer (b) has units (A) derived from tetrafluoroethylene and units (B) derived from ethylene in a molar ratio [(A)/(B)] of the units (A) to the units (B) of from 25/75 to 80/20; the fluorinated copolymer (b) has a crystallization temperature of from 100 to 210&#xb0; C. and a melt flow rate of from 0.1 to 1,000 g/10 min.; and the mass ratio [(a)/(b)] of the fluorinated rubber (a) to the fluorinated copolymer (b) is from 80/20 to 20/80.
