A flywheel includes a hub portion concentrically defined around a center of the flywheel. A body portion located peripherally around the hub portion has a driver-side face and a driven-side face. A plurality of passageways in the body portion extend through the flywheel and fluidly connect the driver-side face with the driven-side face. Each of the plurality of passageways is adapted to receive a flow of lubricant spilling onto the driver-side of the body portion when the flywheel is rotating, and to expel lubricant out of the driven-side face of the body portion.

The present disclosure, in one form, provides an electric motor/generator low hydraulic resistance cooling mechanism including a hollow cooling stator case having an inner and outer coaxial surface. The inner surface defines a generally cylindric cavity for receiving a stator in heat transference contact with the inner surface. The outer surface has integrated spiral groove cooling passages that are defined by filleted rectangular cross sections.

The present disclosure is directed to a fluid-cooled housing for an electric device having an outer surface and an inner surface, the inner surface defining, at least in part, a housing cavity having a longitudinal axis, an end wall continuous with the inner surface. The inner surface having a plurality of core print openings along the longitudinal axis, and a helical conduit integrated within the housing between the outer and inner surfaces along the axis formed from a helical coil core having two or more laterally extending tabs which form the core print in two or more planes.

The present disclosure is directed to a terminal assembly member for electrically connecting output leads to external systems and equipment, including a one piece insulating body formed from high-pressure molten plastic/nylon, adapted for mounting to an external portion of a generator housing; one or more conductive inserts over-molded within the one piece insulated body, the conductive inserts having at least one threaded bore for receiving a bolt; and one or more bronze alloy lug structures over-molded within the one piece insulated body, the one or more lug structures having a generally L-shaped geometry and a plurality of bores adapted for attaching terminal ring carriers.

Lubrication arrangement for a generator system

A machine and electrical power system includes a generator having a speed range that includes a resonance speed associated with resonance vibrations of the system. A drive coupling is disposed between the generator and an engine configured to rotate the generator and is further configured to transmit torque from the engine to the generator, the drive coupling being configured to allow relative slip between first and second elements when the generator is rotated at its resonance speed. A machine operation method includes rotating a generator with an engine, and generating resonance vibrations of at least one of the engine and the generator by rotating the generator at a resonance speed. The method further includes inhibiting transmitting resonance vibrations between the generator and the engine by allowing relative rotational slip within a drive coupling disposed between the engine and the generator.
