A ferrule for attaching a hose end portion to a male-stem, the ferrule having a tubular socket portion that retains a bendable sleevelike insert having substantially a C-shape when viewed in cross-section. Oppositely facing circumjacent edges of the C-shaped insert may have teeth as a means for interdigitating with each other when the ferrule is used to couple hose.

A conduit coupling member for use with a second coupling member, comprising: a generally tubular body having a bore along its longitudinal axis; an integral and portion of the body having a nose portion and an annular groove in the bore juxtaposed the nose portion which together define a cantilever lip deflectable at least partially in a direction of the longitudinal axis; and the nose portion having an outer surface, a portion of which effects a seal when the lip is longitudinally deflected.

A quick connect female coupling with a brasing means in a bore of the coupling that bias an O-ring type packing in sealing engagement against part of the coupling and a pipe end portion when the coupling is in use. A retaining ring in the coupling snap fits against an external collar of a pipe end portion as a retaining means when the coupling is in use.
