Technology is disclosed for implementing a mobile device management service. The technology includes a first computing device behind a first firewall, for providing device management as a software as a service that is configured to (a) receive one or more policies from an entity, the entity managing a second server computing device that is behind a second firewall, wherein the first firewall and the second firewall are different firewalls, further wherein at least one of the received policies is indicated to pertain to a group of mobile computing devices; and (b) upon receiving a communication from a mobile computing device belonging to the group of mobile computing devices, transmit to the mobile computing device the received policy pertaining to the group of mobile computing devices, wherein the received policy specifies a condition for future communications between the mobile computing device and the second server computing device.

Mobile device management as a simplified online software service

One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for securely authorizing a client to consume data and/or services from a service provider server while mitigating burdensome requests made to a validation server. That is, validation data provided to a client from a validation server may be maintained on the client and at least some of that validation data can be used to subsequently authorize the client when the client attempts to consume data and/or services from the service provider server (e.g., download a song). However, the validation data is maintained on the client and/or provided to the service provider server in a manner that inhibits user tampering. In this manner, numerous requests for validation of the client need not be made from the service provider server to the validation server when a client requests content from the service provider server, while also inhibiting unauthorized consumptions of data by the client.

Protected authorization for untrusted clients

Licensing aspects of vendor software packages can be protected with reduced user interaction and effort by automating licensing exploit identification, and if allowed, exploit correction. Automating licensing exploit detection ensures that known exploits are more quickly and efficiently discovered to help maintain genuine software status. Minimizing user interaction in licensing exploit detection and correction involves less disruption to users and generally supports increased user satisfaction with vendor software package usage.

Software anti-piracy protection

A technology for reporting diagnostic information for code of an application program interface is disclosed. In one method approach, diagnostic information for a line of code in a file associated with an application program interface is received. The diagnostic information includes a designation of the line of code. The diagnostic information is stored in a fixed sized buffer. Efficient use of memory is provided without requiring elimination of other diagnostic information previously stored in the fixed sized buffer.
