An aspect of this description relates to a method of beamforming in a telecommunication network. The method includes controlling an antenna array in a base station to output a default beamforming signal, wherein outputting the default beamforming signal consumes a first amount of power. The method includes collecting key performance indicator (KPI) data for a plurality of KPIs. The method includes determining whether each of the plurality of KPIs has a value below a corresponding first threshold of a plurality of first thresholds. The method includes controlling the antenna array to output a second beamforming signal, different from the first beamforming signal, in response to a determination that the value of each of the plurality of KPIs is below the corresponding first threshold of the plurality of first thresholds, wherein outputting the second beamforming signal consumes a second amount of power different from the first amount of power.

Beamforming method and system for implementing

For dual-mode scheduling of a data transfer, first, second, and third data transfer cycles are actuated. The first cycle is actuated based on a scheduling request of the data transfer, and includes selecting a transfer time for transferring a first data packet, and allocating at least one system resource. The second cycle is actuated based on receipt of a signal indicating readiness of a second data packet, and includes determining a signal parameter value, selecting a transfer time, and maintaining a configuration of the allocated system resource based on the signal parameter value. The third cycle is actuated based on receipt of a signal indicating readiness of a third data packet, and includes determining an updated signal parameter value, selecting a transfer time, and altering the configuration of the allocated system resource prior to the transfer time based on the updated signal parameter value.

System and method for dual mode scheduling of data transfers in a network

Radio access network address assignment is performed by assigning, to a distributed unit of an access point for a radio access network, a first management address value from a pool of address values, receiving a notification from a radio unit connected to the radio access network through the distributed unit, instructing the radio unit to erase a recording of a second management address value in a memory unit of the radio unit, and instructing the distributed unit to notify the radio unit of the first management address value after instructing the radio unit.
