Compositions including a filler, an emissivity agent, a crosslinking facilitator, and a metal silicate binder are disclosed. The compositions can be curable at ambient conditions. Methods of coating overhead conductor and power transmission line accessories with such coating compositions are also disclosed.

Ambient cured coating compositions for cables and cable accessories

A durable coating which reduces ice adhesion and minimizes ice accumulation includes a polymeric binder and a film forming lubricant. The polymeric binder is selected from a fluoropolymer or silicone polymer having one or more reactive groups. The film forming lubricant is a lubricous fluoropolymer or silicone polymer. Methods of applying a durable coating are also disclosed.

Compositions and coatings formed thereof with reduced ice adherence and accumulation

Coating compositions including a binder agent are disclosed. The binder agent is formed of a fluorocopolymer and a non-fluorinated film-forming polymer. Methods of coating cables with the coating compositions are also described herein.

A polymeric coating can be applied to an overhead conductor. The overhead conductor includes one or more conductive wires, and the polymeric coating layer surrounds the one or more conductive wires. The overhead conductor can operate at a lower temperature than a bare overhead conductor with no polymeric coating layer when tested in accordance with ANSI C119.4 method. Methods of applying a polymeric coating layer to an overhead conductor are also described herein.

A cable including a conductor surrounded by a covering layer, the covering layer formed from a thermoplastic vulcanizate composition which includes a continuous phase and a dispersed phase. The thermoplastic vulcanizate composition passes the Hot Creep Test at 150&#xb0; C. in accordance with UL 2556 (2013) and has a dielectric loss of 3 or less. A coated electrical accessory includes a bare electrical accessory and a substantially inorganic and dried coating layer coating the bare electrical accessory. The coating layer includes a heat radiating agent and a binder. When the coated electrical accessory is tested in accordance with ANSI CI 19.4-2004 with an amount of imparted current, the coated electrical accessory exhibits an operating temperature that is less than an operating temperature of a bare electrical accessory tested in accordance with ANSI CI 19.4-2004 with the same amount of imparted current. Electrical accessories for power transmission systems and methods for preparing such electrical accessories

An aerial cable treatment system having a cable surface preparation assembly and a coating assembly. The cable treatment system is translatable along an in-situ aerial cable. The cable surface preparation assembly can remove dirt and debris, such as carbon deposit, grease, mud, fertilizers, bird droppings, fungal growth, mosses, soot, ice, and like from aerial cables with varying sizes as it translates along the cable. The coating assembly can apply a coating to the outer surface of the in-situ aerial cable it translates along the cable.

Systems and methods for aerial treatment of overhead cabling

Ultra-conductive wires having enhanced electrical conductivity are disclosed. The conductivity of an ultra-conductive wire is enhanced using cold wire drawing and annealing. Methods of making the ultra-conductive wires are further disclosed.

Ultra-conductive wires and methods of forming thereof

The present invention relates to a surface modified overhead conductor with a coating that allows the conductor to operate at lower temperatures. The coating is an inorganic, non-white coating having durable heat and wet aging characteristics. The coating preferably contains a heat radiating agent with desirable properties, and an appropriate binder/suspension agent. In a preferred embodiment, the coating has L* value of less than 80, a heat emissivity of greater than or equal to 0.5, and/or a solar absorptivity coefficient of greater than 0.3.

Surface modified overhead conductor

The present invention relates to a surface modified overhead conductor with a coating that allows the conductor to operate at lower temperatures. The coating contains about 5% to about 30% of an inorganic adhesive, about 45% to about 92% of a filler, about 2% to about 20% of one or more emissivity agents, and about 1% to about 5% of a stabilizer.
