The invention relates to an arrangement for non-reversible detection and display of electrical overcurrents or current limit values by means of a pre-finished conductor. The conductor according to the invention has at least two conductor sections, spaced apart from each other and extending parallel to each other, which are designed for current to flow through in the same direction. At least one of the parallel conductor sections has a protrusion, a nose, or similar blocking element, which limits the path of movement of a mechanical display or switching element, such that the electromagnetic force acting on the parallel conductor sections during the flow of current transitions the blocking element into a release position in respect of the path of movement of the mechanical display or switching element. Such an arrangement can be used particularly advantageously as a prior damage indicator in surge arresters.

The invention relates to an overvoltage protection device with at least one overvoltage protection unit, consisting of a socket part and a plug part which can be connected to the socket part and which receives means for protecting against an overvoltage, wherein insulated electric conductors can be introduced into the socket part, said electric conductors being contacted using vampire or cutting clamps, thereby penetrating the conductor insulation, and with contact surfaces which can be found on the socket part and which correspond to mating contact surfaces on the base of the plug part. According to the invention, the socket part is made of multiple parts consisting of a base part and a lever part. The base part is designed as a marble panel and has multiple parallel grooves for inserting and receiving the insulated electric conductors. On one face of the base part, hook-shaped protrusions are provided parallel to the grooves. The lever part has axle stubs, which engage into the hook-shaped protrusions, on one lever end. The lever part has at least one cutting clamp on the lever part lower face facing the marble panel and in the vicinity of the axle stubs, wherein the cutting clamp leads to a plug contact which can be found in the lever part and which can be accessed from the upper face of the lever part in order to receive the plug part.

An overvoltage protection device comprises at least one overvoltage protection unit having at least one contact lug as well as a mechanical disconnection apparatus that is activated in the event of a thermal overload. The mechanical disconnection apparatus comprises a connection element that can be moved from a closed position to a current-interrupting or voltage-disconnecting position by a slider that is preloaded by spring force.

The invention relates to a plug-in combination of appliances for protecting against overvoltages, said combination of appliances comprising: a socket-type lower part and at least one plug-in module, which can both receive overvoltage protection elements; contact elements and contact counter elements that are respectively arranged in the lower part and in the plug-in module; and complementary guide rails or guide grooves for inserting or pushing-on and fixing the respective plug-in module. According to the invention, functionally separated, mechanical catch or snap-in elements act between the respective plug-in module and the socket-type lower part independently of the forces which hold together the contact elements and the contact counter elements in a positively fixed and/or non-positively fixed manner when the plug-in module is in use. The catch or snap-in function can be cancelled without any mechanical auxiliary means when the respective plug-in module is to be replaced.
