A head fixation device includes a rocker arm assembly containing one or more stabilizing features. The rocker arm is rotatably adjustable about a longitudinal axis of the rocker arm assembly to any rotational position in a non-stepped fashion. The rocker arm assembly is removable from the head fixation device for easy of cleaning. A lever of the rocker arm assembly translates a shaft and includes eccentric features to provide a camming action for moving locking features of the rocker arm assembly to an unlocked state such that the rocker arm can be rotationally adjusted.

Stabilization assembly for head fixation device

A head stabilization device or HFD includes a plurality of integrated markers. The HFD may be in the form of a skull clamp, vacuum bag, combinations thereof, or other supporting structure. The integrated markers include MRI markers detectable by an MRI scanner and fiducial markers detectable by a registration tool of a navigation system. The markers provide a reference point relative to an operation site in a patient for use in a navigation guided procedure and aid in registering or calibrating the location of the patient with captured images used in the navigation guided procedure.

A connecting member includes a fastening portion configured to be fastened to an object by an adhesive. The connecting member includes at least one supply opening for supplying the adhesive and at least one discharge opening for discharging a part of the adhesive, wherein the at least one supply opening and the at least one discharge opening are arranged outside of a fastening portion or at least outside of a fastening area. A channel connecting the at least one supply opening and the at least one discharge opening is configured to direct the flow of adhesive. The channel includes an open channel portion that at least partly extends on a surface of the fastening portion and that comprises at least one redirecting portion configured to redirect the flow of adhesive between the at least one supply opening and the at least one discharge opening.

A distractor, such as a pediatric mandibular distractor, includes a housing member elongated along a longitudinal axis. At least one distal footplate is attached to the housing member. A drive rod and at least one proximal footplate configured to be driven by the drive rod are provided. A housing engaging member is configured to engage a drive rod engaging member to prevent the housing from being rotated in either a first or second direction of rotation relative to the drive rod when a rotational force less than a predetermined force is applied to the housing or drive rod. The drive rod can be rotated relative to the housing in either the first or second rotational direction when a force greater than the predetermined force is applied to the drive rod or the housing.
