The present invention relates to a formulation comprising a polyether siloxane, which is characterized in that a polyether that is terminated with an ester group and that is different from the polyether siloxane is present in the formulation in an amount of from 0.5 to 10% by weight based on the complete formulation, to a process for the production of a defoamed composition, wherein the inventive formulation is added to the composition to be defoamed, and to a composition comprising a formulation according to the invention, wherein the composition is a coating agent, a paint or a varnish.

Formulation and its use as defoamer

An aqueous dispersion can be used to prepare a lacquer preparation. The aqueous dispersion includes silicon dioxide and at least one of 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,6-hexamethylenediamine and 2,4,4-trimethyl-1,6-hexamethylenediamine.

An aqueous dispersion can contain a) 50-80 wt.-% water, b) 10-30 wt.-% hydrophilic silicon dioxide with a methanol wettability of 0 vol.-% methanol in a methanol-water mixture, c) 2-25 wt.-% alcohol alkoxylate, d) 0.1-20 wt.-% silanol, obtained by the hydrolysis of at least one dialkoxysilane, e) 0.5-4 wt.-%, amine or an amine alcohol, f) 0.1-20 wt.-%, copolymer with side chains containing ethers and esters, and g) 0.1-6.0 wt.-% polyethylene glycol or polypropylene glycol.

A curing agent mixture is for coatings that cure at room temperature. The curing agent mixture can include (A) 10-60% by weight, preferably 20-60% by weight, more preferably 30-50% by weight, of a polysiloxane, (B) 40-90% by weight, preferably 40-80% by weight, more preferably 40-70% by weight, of an amino-functional alkoxysilane and (C) 1-10% by weight, preferably 2-7% by weight, more preferably 3-5% by weight, of a guanidine compound. The stated amounts of components (A), (B), and (C) add up to 100% by weight and are based on the curing agent mixture.
