A system for increasing the security of road users. The system includes motor vehicles, each having a security device that can be activated by an activation signal associated with a security assistance request. The system includes a mobile communication device for transmitting position-data and a selected security assistance request. The system includes a control device for receiving the security assistance request and the acquired current position-data and for transmitting activation signals associated with the security assistance request to an assisting motor vehicle. The control device is configured to specify the one assisting motor vehicle also depending on the acquired current position-data and the security assistance request.

System and method for increasing the security of road users without an own motor vehicle

The disclosure relates to a method for determining by means of numeric geoposition data that specify the current geoposition of a vehicle, and digital maps that contain area polygons, which in each case represent a geographic area on the earth, in the vehicle in which of the various areas the vehicle is currently located. According to the disclosure, a boundary precheck is initially performed, wherein candidate area polygons are selected, which are located in the vicinity of the current vehicle position. The selected candidate area polygons are subjected successively to a PIP test in order to determine whether the current vehicle position is located in one of the corresponding areas. An initial variable is generated, which specifies whether the vehicle is currently located in an area, and possibly in which of the areas the vehicle is currently located, and the initial variable is supplied to at least one driver assistance system of the vehicle.

GPS-based area recognition in vehicles

The disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus that tests a driver assistance system. In a method that tests a driver assistance system in a vehicle, the vehicle includes at least one visual sensor, and the driver assistance system initiates a vehicle reaction based on input data provided by the visual sensor. A provision of the input data is modified using at least one virtual object. In this ease, this modification is carried out by virtue of an image captured by the visual sensor, or scenery captured by the visual sensor being enriched using the at least one virtual object before being captured by the visual sensor.

Method and apparatus for testing a driver assistance system

A housing that accommodates and clads electrical components includes a first housing part with a contact area that bears against a windshield of a motor vehicle. A second housing part, which is connected to the first housing part to form a cavity, where the electrical or electronic components are arranged in the cavity. The first or the second housing part has a number of conductor tracks that are conductively connected to the electrical components. In addition, the disclosure relates to a motor vehicle having a housing of this kind and an on-board electronics system, wherein at least some of the conductor tracks are connected to the on-board electronics system.
