Gradient coil arrangement for a magnetic resonance apparatus has multiple sub-coils formed by coil conductors on a common substrate, and the gradient coil arrangement has at least one damping producer that damps voltage overshoots occurring due to capacitive and/or inductive coupling between two sub-coils as a result of interfering frequencies in the wanted signal for at least one of the sub-coils affected. The damping producer is directly applied to the coil conductor of at least one of the sub-coils involved in the capacitive and/or inductive coupling.

A method for producing a gradient coil assembly for a magnetic resonance imaging system includes applying a number of primary gradient coils and a number of secondary gradient coils to a winding mandrel to form the gradient coil assembly. A control coil arrangement is associated with the winding mandrel. During an intermediate check before completion of the gradient coil assembly, at least one coupling inductance value between the control coil arrangement and at least one of the primary gradient coils and/or at least one of the secondary gradient coils is determined. An arrangement of the relevant gradient coils on the winding mandrel is corrected as a function of the at least one coupling inductance value.

In a method for designing a gradient coil composed of multiple sub-coils, parameters representing the structure of the gradient coil are varied, and the variation that produces an optimized electrical field generated by the gradient coil is determined. The final design of the gradient coil embodies those parameters that produced the optimal electrical field. In a method for manufacturing a gradient coil, the gradient coil is manufactured according to the final design. A gradient coil manufactured according to the invention has a gradient conductor configuration that optimizes the electrical field generated by the gradient coil. A magnetic resonance apparatus, and a combined positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance apparatus, embodies such a gradient coil.

In a gradient coil and a method to manufacture a gradient coil for a magnetic resonance apparatus, the gradient coil has at least one saddle coil, the saddle coil having a spatially shaped, electrically conductive plate with a line-shaped recess penetrating the plate. Conductor structures that create a gradient magnetic field in an examination region when a current signal flows therethrough are formed by the recess and by the shaping of the plate. The recess is filled with an electrically insulating material before implementation of the spatial shaping.

Gradient coil and method to manufacture a gradient coil

The invention concerns an arrangement for magnetic field measurement of a measurement object (in particular a gradient coil in a magnetic resonance apparatus) with a magnetic field sensor that is designed to measure a magnetic field of the measurement object and with a measurement mechanism on which the magnetic field sensor is arranged at a first position. The measurement object has detectable reference points that can be used for calibration of a spatial position of a position sensor. The calibrated position sensor is arranged at a second position of the measurement mechanism, such that, with the first position and the second position, a spatial position relative to the measurement object can be associated with each magnetic field strength that is measured by the magnetic field sensor.
