A reprocessing apparatus for cleaning and/or disinfecting a medical instrument including a fluid container for a reprocessing fluid and a reprocessing device. The reprocessing device includes: a reprocessing space in which the medical instrument is introduced for reprocessing; a fluid line for connection to at least one channel of the medical instrument, wherein the fluid line is configured to transport the reprocessing fluid to the at least one channel; a bubble introducing apparatus for introducing gas bubbles into the fluid line; and a gas bubble speed determining apparatus for determining a speed of the gas bubbles in the fluid line. The gas bubble speed determining apparatus includes a camera for capturing successive images of at least a portion of the gas bubbles in the fluid line.

Reprocessing apparatus and method for operating a reprocessing apparatus for cleaning and/or disinfecting a medical instrument

An adapter device for use in a reprocessing device for reprocessing surgical instruments. The adapter device including: at least one first fluid attachment, on an inlet side for connection to a coupling device of the reprocessing device; at least one second fluid attachment, on an outlet side for connection to the surgical instrument, the at least one second fluid attachment being adapted geometrically to an attachment of the surgical instrument; and an adapter identification feature that is detectable by the reprocessing device. Also provided is a reprocessing system having a reprocessing device for reprocessing surgical instruments and having the adapter device. The reprocessing device including: the coupling device for connecting to the adapter device; and a detection device which detects, with the adapter device connected to the reprocessing device, the adapter identification feature of the adapter device.

A method for testing the patency of an endoscopic channel in an endoscope washing machine. In the method, the entrance of the channel is pressurized and then blocked, whereupon the pressure change at the entrance is measured. Where the channel is pressurized using a sequence of pressure pulses, and the maximum and minimum values thereof are determined.
