The invention relates to rubber mixtures, said rubber mixtures comprising (a) at least one rubber, excluding silicone rubber, chloroprene rubber, bromobutyl rubber, fluoro rubber and nitrile rubber, The rubber mixture is produced by mixing the rubber, silane of general formula (I), amine compound and bifunctional silane.

The invention relates to rubber mixtures, wherein these comprise at least one rubber, excluding silicone rubber, and at least one silatrane of general formula (I)G-Si(&#x2014;O&#x2014;CXX&#x2014;CXX&#x2014;)N&#x2003;&#x2003;(I) The rubber mixture is produced by mixing at least one rubber and a silatrane of formula (I). The silatrane of formula (I) may be used as a secondary accelerator in rubber mixtures.

A composition containing 2-ethylhexyl silicate, is produced by heating a reaction mixture of ethyl silicate with an excess amount of 2-ethylhexanol in the presence of titanium tetrabutoxide as catalyst to a temperature below the boiling point of 2-ethylhexanol while mixing, allowing the reaction mixture to react and, after the reaction, removing ethanol and excess 2-ethylhexanol from the reaction mixture by distillation and obtaining the composition containing 2-ethylhexyl silicate.

Azocarbonyl-functionalized silanes of formula I(R)(R)Si&#x2014;R&#x2014;NH&#x2014;C(O)&#x2014;N&#x2550;N&#x2014;R&#x2003;&#x2003;(I)and methods for their production are provided. The silanes of formula (I) are useful in rubber mixtures to provide moldings having improved tear-resistance.
