A sensor package comprises a non-conductive substrate, at least two electrically conductive coils located at a first side of the non-conductive substrate, an evaluation circuit located at a second side of the non-conductive substrate opposing the first side of the non-conductive substrate and conductive connections between the at least two electrically conductive coils and the evaluation circuit.

Sensor package

An apparatus for sensing a position of a target, in particular for offset invariant sensing of the position of the target, is described as well as a corresponding method. The apparatus comprises at least three sensor elements. At least one sensor element of the at least three sensor elements generates a first magnetic field. At least two sensor elements of the at least three sensor elements receive a second magnetic field associated with the first magnetic field. The at least two sensor elements of the at least three sensor elements form at least one sensor element pair and provide a signal indicative of the position of the target.

Flux coupling sensor

In an embodiment, a circuit includes a synchronizer configured to generate a trigger signal synchronized to a reference clock. A synthesizer is configured to synthesize a signal according to frequency control data in response to the trigger signal. A radio receiver is configured to process a carrier signal according to the synthesized signal. A phase measurement unit is configured to measure a first channel frequency response based on the processed carrier signal.

Frequency control data synchronization

In one embodiment, setting, by a first node, a settable data rate for a first part of a data frame, the data frame also having a second part having a defined second data rate, and transmitting, by the node, the first part at the set data rate and the second part at the second data rate, the first part including at least a portion of a payload of the data frame and the second part including an identifier based on the set data rate.

Transmitting data between nodes of a wireless network

A receiving circuit, method for receiving a signal, and use of a detection circuit and a control circuit of a receiving circuit of a node of a radio network is provided to deactivate an analog signal processing and/or determination of digital data from a signal received over an antenna of the node, when a stored current frame of the digital data has been recognized as valid, and to activate the analog signal processing and/or the determination, when the transmission of the current frame over an interface of the control circuit has been confirmed, whereby the control circuit is connected to the detection circuit and/or an input circuit for deactivation and activation, and whereby the detection circuit is formed to determine the digital data from the received signal.

Receiving circuit, method for receiving a signal, and use of a detection circuit and a control circuit

In certain embodiments, an apparatus includes circuitry coupled to a switch between a first and second antenna of a device. The circuitry generates a first control signal for the switch to couple a transceiver of the device to the first antenna for transmission of a first data frame. The circuitry determines whether the transceiver has received, within a pre-determined time interval after transmission of the first data frame, a second data frame containing an acknowledgement message confirming successful receipt of the first data frame by another device. The circuitry generates, if the transceiver has not received the second data frame within the pre-determined time interval, a second control signal for the switch to couple the transceiver to the second antenna for re-transmission of the first data frame. An output line of the apparatus couples the circuitry to the switch and communicates the first or second control signal to the switch.

Transmitting/receiving device and method for transmitting data in a radio network

In one embodiment, a transceiver may set a first receive frequency of a first channel of the transceiver and a second receive frequency of a second channel of the transceiver. The transceiver may receive, during a first time interval, a first radio frequency (RF) signal on the first channel. The transceiver may determine that a first measured value indicative of a first detectable received RF signal on the first channel exceeds a first predetermined threshold, and in response, receive a first data frame on the first channel. The transceiver may receive, during a second time interval, a second RF signal on the second channel. The transceiver determine that a second measured value indicative of a second detectable received RF signal on the second channel exceeds the first predetermined threshold, and in response, receive a second data frame on the second channel.

Operating a transceiver

In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an instruction for a transceiver of a device to transmit a first data frame; in response to the instruction, generating a first control signal for a switch to couple the transceiver to a first antenna for transmission of the first data frame by the transceiver via the first antenna; determining whether the transceiver has received within a pre-determined time interval after the transmission of the first data frame a second data frame containing an acknowledgement message confirming successful receipt of the first data frame by another device; and, if the transceiver has not received within the pre-determined time interval after the transmission of the first data frame the second data frame, then generating a second control signal for the switch to couple the transceiver to the second antenna for re-transmission of the first data frame by the transceiver via a second antenna.

A method for the transmission and use of a power amplifier and transmission circuit of a radio network is provided that includes a power amplifier, which is connectable to an antenna, a counter whose output is connected to a control input of the power amplifier to output a count value to control the amplification of the power amplifier, a register for storing a register value, a comparator whose inputs are connected to the output of the counter and the register for comparing the register value with the count value, and a control circuit whose input is connected to the comparator and whose output is connected to the counter to control a counting process depending on the comparison result of the comparator.

Transmission circuit, transmission method, and use

A dual band WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) communications technique is provided where a frequency synthesizer unit generates an LO (Local Oscillator) signal at a frequency between both frequency bands and two downconversion units and/or two upconversion units are provided. One of the units performs conversion between the LO signal and an IF (Intermediate Frequency) signal while the other conversion takes place between the IF signal and a zero-IF or low-IF signal. Signal processing is performed on the zero-IF or low-IF signal.

Dual band WLAN communication frequency synthesizer technique

A PLL frequency generator is disclosed for generating an output signal with a settable target frequency, comprising a) a voltage-controlled oscillator for generating the output signal depending on a control voltage, b) a switchable frequency divider, which is connected to the voltage-controlled oscillator and is designed to derive a frequency-divided signal whose instantaneous frequency depends on a value of an adjustable divisor, from the output signal c) a switchable delay unit, which is connected to the frequency divider and is designed to generate a delayed signal in that the frequency-divided signal is delayed by delay times that in each case depend on a control word and a control signal, and d) a phase detector, which is connected to the switchable delay unit and is designed to determine the phase difference between a reference signal and the delayed signal and to provide it for the generation of the control voltage. According to the invention, a calibration unit is provided, which is connected to the switchable delay unit and is designed to derive the control signal from the reference signal.

PLL frequency generator

A PLL frequency generator is disclosed for generating an output signal with a settable target frequency, comprising a) a voltage-controlled oscillator for generating the output signal, b) a switchable frequency divider, which is connected to the voltage-controlled oscillator and is designed to derive from the output signal a frequency-divided signal whose instantaneous frequency depends on a value of an adjustable divisor, c) a switchable delay unit, which is connected to the frequency divider and is designed to generate a delayed signal in that the frequency-divided signal is delayed by delay times that depend on a control word, and d) a controller connected to the switchable delay unit controller and designed to determine the control words. According to the invention, the controller has a sigma-delta modulator and is designed to determine the control words depending on at least one signal provided by the sigma-delta modulator.

A WLAN transmitter capable of transmitting data signals modulated in accordance with an individual one of at least two different modulation schemes and corresponding methods and integrated circuit chips are provided. The WLAN transmitter contains a front end section having a low-IF topology and including a digital front end unit and an analog front end unit. The digital front end unit contains a first signal processing branch for processing transmission data signals modulated in accordance with a first one of said at least two different modulation schemes. The digital front end unit further contains a second signal processing branch for processing transmission data signals modulated in accordance with a second one of said at least two different modulation schemes. The analog front end unit contains one single signal processing branch for processing transmission data signals modulated in accordance with any one of said at least two different modulation schemes.
