A suture includes an outer sheath with color marks and a background visually distinguishable from the color marks. Each color mark has exposed portions of at least two colored yarns of first and second different colors. The background includes exposed portions of background yarns of a background color. The background yarns and the colored yarns are braided to each other. The first and second colors are different from the background color. The color marks are arranged in at least one row along a longitudinal direction of the suture. Each color mark is longitudinally shifted with respect to a subsequent color mark in a same row by a first shift, and the exposed portions of the colored yarns of each color mark are substantially parallel to each other and arranged in a sequence along the longitudinal direction of the suture.

An arthroscope comprises a sleeve having an internally hollow, proximal portion and an internally hollow middle portion connected to the proximal portion so as to create a through axial cavity. The sleeve has, within the middle portion, an abutment area. The arthroscope also comprises an optical unit having an elongated portion and a coupling portion configured to be at least partially received inside the through axial cavity of the sleeve. The coupling portion has a matching area suitable to couple with the abutment area. The matching area and the abutment area are shaped so as to have at least one pilot element so as to determine a univocal predefined coupling position between the sleeve and the optical unit; the matching area and the abutment area are also shaped so as to guide and automatically place the optical unit in such a predefined position.

Disclosed is a guide for a flexible bone drill, including: a first body provided internally with a through channel; a second, internally hollow body, into which said first body can be inserted; said second body being provided with a through hole suitable to be placed in fluidic connection with the internal through channel of said first body; and said second body and said first body sliding relative to one another to vary the relative position of the hole with respect to said through channel. The invention relates to a surgical instrument system, which comprises a hollow shaft as well as a shaft-type instrument that can be inserted into the hollow shaft. To create a surgical instrument system that consists of a hollow shaft and of a medical instrument that can be inserted into the hollow shaft and that is both simple in construction and capable of a range of uses, it is proposed according to the invention that at least one cam that reduces the inside diameter of the hollow shaft should be positioned on the interior of the hollow shaft.

A medical cutting instrument for cutting muscles and tendons, having a shaft on whose distal end a tool is mounted consisting of two jaw members, such that one jaw member can be moved with respect to the other jaw member, and on whose proximal end a handle is mounted, such that the movable jaw member and the handle operatively interact by way of an actuation element, in such a way that the movable jaw member can be shifted by actuating the handle between a closed position and an opened position. The other jaw member is U-shaped such that the two parallel legs of the U are disposed diagonally to the instrument longitudinal axis and the opening of the U points toward one side of the other jaw member, so that the other jaw member can be pushed from the side onto the muscle/tendon tissue that is to be severed.
