Embodiments described herein include methods, systems, and apparatuses for allowing a user equipment (UE) that supports dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) with uplink (UL)-shift to access a cell and barring UEs that do not support DSS with UL-shift. Embodiments may use a cell barring field in a master information block and additional filters to indicate a barring state for a network node.

Methods, systems, and apparatuses for handling dynamic spectrum sharing with uplink subcarrier shift

The exemplary embodiments relate to a computer readable storage medium, a user equipment, a method and an integrated circuit that perform operations. A user equipment (UE) enters into a first state including one of a non-dormant state or a dormant state with a secondary serving cell (SCell) of a network, the SCell being configured to provide either one of a non-dormant bandwidth part (BWP) as a secondary component carrier (SCC) in the non-dormant state or a dormant BWP as an SCC in the dormant state. The UE switches from the first state to a second state including the other one of the non-dormant state or the dormant state, the switch being based on network configuration, a dormancy timer, or a radio condition.

SCell dormancy reliability improvement

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to discontinuous reception (DRX) transmission. Embodiments of the present disclosure propose a solution for DRX configurations for point-to-point (PTP) and/or point-to-multipoint (PTM) transmissions. In this solution, a user equipment (UE) maintains separate DRX configurations for PTP transmissions and PTM transmissions. During active time for the PTP transmissions, the UE monitors physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) with a UE specific identifier. The UE monitors PDCCH with a PTM transmission specific identifier during active time for the PTM transmissions. In this way, it can match the MBS service quality mechanism. Moreover, it also saves power at the UE.

Discontinuous reception transmission

To accommodate a mix of high frequency carriers and lower frequency carriers, a protocol stack may include a radio link control (RLC) entity that allows configuration of status reporting control parameters on per carrier, or per subcarrier spacing. Alternatively, a protocol stack may include two RLC entities, one for handling high frequency carriers, and another for handling lower frequency carriers. (High frequency carriers and lower frequency carriers may be distinguished based on a frequency threshold.) Furthermore, a user equipment may transmit (to the network) an indication of its L2 buffer size. The network may configure the UE and/or control scheduling, to ensure the UE's L2 buffer does not overrun. Alternatively, the UE may indicate that it can support a percentage of a maximum buffer size. The network may configure the UE and/or control scheduling so that the UE's buffer occupancy does not exceed the percentage.

Handling high data rates in protocol stack when using high frequency spectrum

In an exemplary embodiment, the operations include receiving an initial data from a UE is in a RRC_INACTIVE while the UE does not transition from the RRC_INACTIVE state to a RRC_CONNECTED state. A user equipment (UE) associated with a wireless communication system is disclosed. The UE comprises one or more processors configured to process a service configuration signal received from a base station associated therewith. In some aspects, the service configuration signal comprises an indication of one or more service configurations associated with a data transmission that are allowed to be transmitted by the UE during an INACTIVE state of the UE. The one or more processors is further configured to determine the one or more service configurations associated with the data transmission that are allowed to be transmitted by the UE during the INACTIVE state of the UE, based on processing the service configuration signal.
