Disclosed are methods and systems for facilitating takeoff and landing of an aircraft. For instance, the method may include obtaining aircraft information and retrieving vertiport information for a desired landing or takeoff location area. The method may further include determining an aircraft path including a vertical path portion and a cruise path portion; determining a dynamic switchover point between the vertical path portion and the cruise path portion along the aircraft path; and transmitting control information including a vertical control portion and a cruise control portion to aircraft propulsion systems. Wherein the aircraft propulsion systems will operate under one of the vertical control portion or the cruise control portion until the aircraft reaches the dynamic switchover point, and wherein the aircraft propulsion systems will operate under the other of the vertical control portion or the cruise control portion after the aircraft reaches the dynamic switchover point.

Method and systems for facilitating takeoff and landing of an aircraft

A method including: receiving data associated with a unique identity of a vehicle asset to identify the vehicle asset; receiving data associated with a unique identity of a smart wheel chock to identify the smart wheel chock; associating the identified vehicle asset with the identified smart wheel chock, such that a location of the smart wheel chock can represent a location of the vehicle asset; receiving location data associated with the location of the smart wheel chock, wherein the received location data is based, at least in part, on location data generated by one or more systems on the smart wheel chock; and identifying the vehicle asset location based on the received smart wheel chock location data such that the vehicle asset can be determined and relayed to a user device to locate the vehicle asset.

Systems and methods for displaying connectivity strength for vehicles are disclosed. For instance, the method may include receiving, from an off-board station, connectivity data relating to a connected vehicle, the connectivity data having been received from a plurality of connected vehicles other than the connected vehicle and selected based on relevance to the connected vehicle; identifying a portion of the received connectivity data to display on the connected vehicle; generating a display of the identified portion of the received connectivity data; and displaying on a display unit of the connected vehicle, the generated display of the identified portion of the received connectivity data. The method may also include generating and displaying an updated route based on the received connectivity data.

System and method to display connectivity strength and communication performance of connected vehicles

Disclosed are methods, systems, and non-transitory computer-readable media for transmitting obstacle information to one or more operator displays associated with an aircraft. For instance, the method may include obtaining aircraft flight information including a current position and altitude; retrieving obstacle information for a flight area; scanning the flight area with environment sensors to identify observed obstacles and generate observed obstacle information. The method may further include aggregating the obstacle information with the observed obstacle information of the observed obstacles identified by the environment sensors to generate aggregated obstacle information identifying obstacles in the flight area; determining obstacle characteristics of the obstacles located in the flight area; assigning visual characteristics to each of the obstacles based at least in part on the determined obstacle characteristics; determining a subset of the obstacles relevant to the aircraft; and transmitting information on the relevant subset of obstacles to a display of the aircraft.

For instance, the method may include obtaining aircraft flight information including a current position and a current altitude of the aircraft; and retrieving, from a database, building information for one or more buildings located in a flight path area, the flight path area including the current position of the aircraft. The method may further include assigning one or more visual characteristics to each of the one or more buildings located in the flight path area based at least in part on the building information and the current altitude of the aircraft; and displaying, to the one or more operators of the aircraft, the one or more buildings located in the flight path area with the assigned one or more visual characteristics.

Method and systems for providing contextual building height information to aircraft operators

Methods and systems for providing off-board recharge station information for an urban air mobility (UAM) vehicle flying on an intended trip. The method includes displaying a map showing the UAM vehicle at a current location, the intended trip, and an endurance line that represents an extent of the available UAM charge. The method retrieves recharge station information including a station name, location, number of recharge ports at the station, and a compatibility type for each of the recharge ports. The method identifies recharge stations that are compatible with the UAM vehicle and can be reached from the intended trip with the UAM available charge, and also updates information associated with the identified recharge stations responsive to a received real-time status update. The method visually depicts the identified recharge stations and visually distinguishes an identified recharge station having a shortest path deviation from the intended trip.

Systems and methods for displaying off-board recharge station information for an urban air mobility (UAM) vehicle

Systems and methods are provided for displaying operating data for a re-chargeable battery for an electric vehicle. The system comprises a re-chargeable battery for powering components of an electrical vehicle, a sensor that detects a present level of charge in the battery and a display. The display receives the present level of charge of the battery from the monitor and displays the present level of charge in the battery, a required level of endurance for the battery that is based on a planned operational parameter for the vehicle, a minimum level of charge in the battery that meets the required level of endurance, and an amount of time needed to re-charge the battery to achieve the minimum level of charge.

System and method for a mission-based battery status display for electric vehicles

Methods and systems for generating a vertical situation display for a noise abatement departure procedure (NADP). Other NADP relevant displays are also disclosed including display of NADP parameters on altitude tape and primary flight displays, an NADP bug on an engine display and NADP status annunciations. The methods and systems include receiving NADP parameters entered into a flight management system (FMS) on a user interface of the aircraft system. The NADP parameters include: an initial altitude at which take-off thrust should be reduced to NADP thrust, an acceleration altitude at which the aircraft should begin accelerating to a final take-off speed whilst maintaining the NADP thrust, a climb excitement altitude at which a speed target is changed to the final take-off speed whilst maintaining the NADP thrust, and an end altitude at which the NADP should be exited. The methods and systems include generating a vertical situation display for a display device of the aircraft system indicating the NADP parameters on a flight path indication.

A method and system for identifying and displaying alerts of air traffic by receiving input data to a processor of an aircraft wherein the input data comprises: distress, emergency, and special traffic data; generating, by a graphic device coupled to the processor, restricted and unrestricted airspace about the aircraft based the input data; displaying, by the graphic device, the restricted and unrestricted airspace on a display of the aircraft to view on a traffic map the restricted and unrestricted airspace for navigating the aircraft; and generating, by a graphic device coupled to the processor, restricted and unrestricted airspace about the aircraft based on the input data from an aircraft transponder, an emergency locator beacon and an ADS-B emitter.

System and method to identify, depict and alert distress and special traffic based on at least squawk codes

A method and system provide a backup push-to-talk (PTT) function for a transmitter in a stuck microphone condition. The method determines whether a stuck microphone condition exists in the transmitter, and if the stuck microphone condition exists, the method alerts a user that the stuck microphone condition exists. The method then enables a backup PTT interface for the transmitter such that a backup PTT button is available to the user to activate the backup PTT function. The method alerts the user when the backup PTT function is activated, and sends a message to a receiver after the backup PTT button is engaged by the user.

Method and system for providing backup push-to-talk function in stuck microphone condition

The disclosure is directed to techniques that use a data communication system such as ADS-B to provide an output to alert an aircraft operator of an incorrect barometric pressure setting for a pressure altimeter, and provide the correct altimeter setting. For example, the system may compile the ADS-B Out data from other aircraft operating near a first aircraft to provide the barometric pressure setting in use by the other aircraft. A system of this disclosure may identify the altimeter setting used by majority of the other aircraft in a region of airspace. If a first aircraft's current barometric altimeter setting is different from the setting of the majority of the nearby aircraft, then the system may generate an output to alert the operator of the first aircraft of a potential incorrect altimeter setting as well as provide a suggested barometric altimeter setting.

A vehicle system includes a control unit with a weather module configured to receive weather data and to identify a wind shear zone at a location based on the weather data, the weather module further configured to generate wind shear coordinate data and wind shear characteristic data based on the weather data. The control unit further includes a display module configured to generate display commands based on the wind shear coordinate data and wind shear characteristic data from the weather module. The vehicle system further includes a display device coupled to receive the display commands from the control unit and configured to display a three-dimensional forward perspective view corresponding to a vehicle environment. The display device is further configured to display first wind shear symbology within the view at a position that indicates the location of the wind shear zone.

The method obtains a first set of weather data from aircraft onboard radar system; obtains a second set of weather data from external sources including one or more external aircraft, a satellite, a remote server, and a ground-based weather station, wherein the communication device is compatible a communication protocol for the external sources, and wherein the communication protocol comprises at least one of a datalink communication protocol, a satellite communication protocol, a very high frequency (VHF) radio communication protocol, and a transponder communication protocol; and presents graphical elements comprising a first set of graphical elements associated with the first set of weather data and a second set of graphical elements associated with the second set of weather data, wherein the second set of graphical elements include visual characteristics distinguishable from the first set of graphical elements.

Methods and systems for providing live weather data onboard an aircraft

A system and method display a hazard free area around an aircraft that is modified to alert a pilot if a threshold distance between a detected object and the aircraft is reached. The modification may include, for example, altering the size of the hazard free area and its color. Additional information that may be displayed includes distance to the object, width of the hazard free area, stopping distance of the aircraft, and a route to avoid the object.

System and method for highlighting an area encompassing an aircraft that is free of hazards

A system and method are provided for displaying an enhanced longitudinal scale providing user interface and awareness for executing the Next Gen Flight Deck Interval Management (FIM) and the Cockpit Display of Traffic Information (CDTI) application Enhanced Visual Separation on Approach (VSA) to provide a required spacing between aircraft based on distance and time. An own-ship and a reference aircraft are displayed in relation to a desired flight path. A symbol indicates the desired separation of the own-ship from the aircraft.
