A method for forming a heat sealable coating on a substrate, wherein the substrate is formed from at least one oriented polymer is shown. The method includes depositing an aqueous polymer dispersion on the substrate, wherein the aqueous polymer dispersion includes (A) at least one thermoplastic resin; (B) at least one dispersing agent; and (C) water; wherein the dispersion has a pH of less than 12, and drying the dispersion to form a first layer.

The instant invention is a composite dispersion, method of producing the same, and articles made therefrom. The composite dispersion according to the instant invention comprises (1) a first seed dispersion comprising (a) a first internal phase; and (b) an external phase, and (2) a second internal phase; wherein the composite dispersion comprises more than 60 percent by the combined weight of the first internal phase and the second internal phase, and the composite dispersion has a viscosity of less than 10,000 cP measured by RV4 spindle at 20 rpm at greater than 60 weight percent total internal phase, and wherein the composite dispersion has a bimodal particle size distribution and a particle size ratio (P2/P1) in the range of 2 to 200.

The instant invention is a coating system, a coating composition, a coating layer, a coated substrate, a method for producing a coating composition, a method for forming a coating layer, a method for making a coated substrate, and a method for healing a coated substrate. The coating system according to the present invention comprises (a) one or more natural oil derived polyols having an average of 3 or more hydroxyl groups per molecule, a number average molecular weight in the range of 300 to 3000 Daltons, a Tin the range of from less than 0&#xb0; C.; and (b) one or more polyisocyanates.

Coating composition

The instant invention is a composite dispersion, method of producing the same, and articles made therefrom. The composite dispersion according to the instant invention comprises (1) a first seed dispersion comprising (a) a first internal phase; and (b) an external phase, and (2) a second internal phase; wherein the composite dispersion comprises more than 60 percent by the combined weight of the first internal phase and the second internal phase, and the composite dispersion has a viscosity of less than 10,000 cP measured by RV4 spindle at 20 rpm at greater than 60 weight percent total internal phase, and wherein the composite dispersion has a bimodal particle size distribution and a particle size ratio (P2/P1) in the range of 2 to 200. The first internal phase comprises a first hydrophobic material selected from the group consisting of alkyd, silicone, polyolefin, polyurethane, epoxy, emulsion polymer, and polyester. The external phase comprises water. The second internal phase comprises a second hydrophobic material selected from the group consisting of alkyd, silicone, polyurethane prepolymer, epoxy, and polyester.
