A smart lock for securing a door is provided comprising: an actuator configured to actuate a lock mechanism between a locked and an unlocked position; a housing attachable to a first side of the door, retaining the lock mechanism and the actuator; a receiver configured to wirelessly receive a signal to control operation of the actuator; a key mechanism engageable with the lock mechanism so as to actuate the lock mechanism, the key mechanism for receiving a tail piece of a key cylinder; a handle mechanism engageable with the lock mechanism so as to actuate the lock mechanism; and a handle arranged to control operation of the handle mechanism extending from the housing on the first side of the door. The key mechanism and the handle mechanism are disengageable from the lock mechanism.

Smart lock

A smart lock for securing a door comprising: a housing mountable to the door; an actuator within the housing configured to actuate a lock mechanism between a locked position and an unlocked position, the lock mechanism including a latch bolt with an angled front face, the latch bolt configured to be retractable against a biasing force provided by a biasing means such that the door is closeable when the lock mechanism is in the locked position; and a receiver within the housing configured to wirelessly receive a signal to control operation of the actuator; a sensor mountable exclusively to the door so as to generate a signal indicative of the door beginning to move; a controller arranged to receive the signal indicative of the door beginning to move, the controller configured to control the actuator to actuate the lock mechanism in response to the signal indicative of the door beginning to move.

A smart lock () for securing a closure (), for example a swing door, comprising: an actuator configured to actuate a lock mechanism contained within the closure to secure and/or to release the lock mechanism; and a receiver configured to wirelessly receive a signal to control operation of the actuator. An associated system and methods are also described.

Smart lock, system and method

A handle assembly for a cleaning appliance such as a vacuum cleaner includes a flexible hose having a first end that is connectable to a main body of the cleaning appliance and a second end, a handle portion for maneuvering the handle assembly during use and a tubular wand. The second end of the flexible hose is connected to the handle portion, and the tubular wand is slidably mounted in the handle portion so as to be movable between a first position in which the tubular wand extends beyond the handle portion inside the flexible hose and a second position in which the tubular wand extends beyond the handle portion away from the flexible hose.

Handle assembly for a cleaning appliance

A cleaning appliance includes an airflow generator for generating an airflow, separating apparatus for separating dirt and dust from the airflow, a power source for supplying power to the airflow generator, at least one exhaust vent and an exhaust baffle, the exhaust baffle includes a body having an upstream face and a downstream face, an airflow path between the upstream and downstream faces and a plurality of blades projecting from the body, each blade having a first side edge, a second side edge and a forward edge.

Cleaning appliance

In an appliance, such as a cyclonic vacuum cleaner, a motor is arranged to drive an impeller fan located in a motor and fan unit. The rotation of the impeller may cause nuisance tones to be generated. A silencing arrangement is provided to control such noise and includes a plurality of discrete passive silencers in the form of tube silencers arranged in a first set and a second set. The tube silencers have open end portions arranged to face the fan and the silencers of the first set are spaced from the silencers of the second set in both axial and radial directions. This combination gives the same effect as an array of closely spaced tube silencers&#x2014;however, by spacing the silencers in two directions, fluid is allowed to flow freely.

Silencing arrangement

A handle assembly for a cleaning appliance includes a handle portion and a tubular wand having an open end configured to receive tools or other accessories when the cleaning appliance is in use. The handle assembly also includes a wand cap which is movable between a first position in which the wand cap covers the open end of the tubular wand and a second position in which the open end of the tubular wand is not covered by the wand cap. The wand cap is releasably connected to the handle portion or the tubular wand in a snap-fit manner. This provides an advantageous construction which reduces the risk of damage and the cost of repair.
