The catheter assembly () and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes () containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container () can be disposed within the tray. Printed instructions () can be included with the tray (). One or more layers of wrap material () can be folded about the tray () to enclose the tray () and other items, such as an additional layer of wrap material (), packaged liquid hand sanitizer (), and packaged gloves (). When a health care services provider () unfolds the wrap material, the same can be used to create a sterile field beneath a patient ().

Catheter tray, packaging system, instruction insert, and associated methods

A female external urinary device useful in managing urine output of a female, such as for surgical use, includes a core having a suction channel and an interior reservoir fluidically communicating with the suction channel, an absorbent layer, and a fabric cover. Desirably, the urinary device includes a moderately absorbent soaker layer disposed inwardly with respect to the core. A urinary device assembly includes the core and a pelvic belt that may be secure to the core and positioned to collect urine from a female patient.

Female external urinary device and assembly

A medical procedure kit includes a single-layer tray () having a first compartment () at least partially bounded by a first base member () and a second compartment () at least partially bounded by a second base member (). At least one syringe () is situated within the first compartment. A Foley catheter (), coupled to coiled tubing () and a fluid drain bag (), is disposed within the second compartment. This catheter assembly is inverted, with the Foley catheter () and the coiled tubing () positioned between the second base member () and the fluid drain bag ().

Foley catheter and corresponding single-layer tray packaging system

A Foley catheter kit includes a surface defining a single layer tray with at least two compartments at least partially separated by a barrier. A first syringe is disposed in a first compartment, while a Foley catheter, coupled to coiled tubing and a fluid drain bag, is disposed within a second compartment. The first compartment defines a lubricating jelly application chamber to lubricate at least a portion of the Foley catheter when the portion is passed from the second compartment to the first compartment. In one aspect, a catheter securement device comprises a body portion having an upper surface and a lower surface, the body portion having a pocket that comprises a substantially tubular channel, the channel being open at the upper surface, the pocket further including a port cavity in communication with the channel. The securement device further comprises a strap portion movable between a fully closed position and a range of open positions. The strap portion at least partially covers the pocket when in a closed position thereby closing the channel at the upper surface. The strap portion allows access to the channel when in an open position.

Securement device and assembly

A cover () having one or more openings () and one or more complementary closure devices () fits about a fluid drain bag, such as a urinary catheter drain bag (). The cover () can be configured to be both partially transparent and partially opaque. Accordingly, a health services provider () can instantly perform rudimentary analysis of the fluid level () with a quick glance, yet can perform more in-depth analysis by lifting a front panel () at the lower opening (). The in-depth analysis can be done without removing the cover (). The coveris also semiopaque, thereby protecting patient dignity by obfuscating the cover's contents.
