Embodiments of the present concept are directed to medical devices for use by a rescuer who is caring for a patient and includes a bottom device for use with a top device to measure the depth of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) chest compressions delivered to the chest of a patient. The top device is intended for placement on the chest of the patient and has a top mechanism that is moveable up and down as the chest compressions are delivered to the patient. The bottom device includes a generally elongate member having a handle at one end and a bottom mechanism near the opposite end. The elongate member is structured to be placed under the patient during delivery of CPR. The top mechanism and the bottom mechanism cooperate to generate a value for a net depth of the compressions of the patient chest with reference to each other.

A support device for assisting a wearer in the administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the device comprising: a wearable support for strengthening at least one of the wearer's wrist, hand or forearm, the wearable support being adapted to circumscribe a majority of the circumference of the at least one of the wearer's wrist, hand or forearm; wherein the wearable support is adapted to be in close contact with the at least one of the wearer's wrist, hand or forearm, to provide support to the wearer through compression of the at least one of the wearer's wrist, hand or forearm.

Support device for administration of CPR

Embodiments of the invention provide a facility for measuring critical CPR parameters during first aid training. Specifically, the device provides a manikin housing for the insertion of a consumer electronic device such as phone, music player, personal assistant, game controller or other device with necessary sensory for the measurement of the CPR parameters. Tactile buttons, touch sensitive displays and embedded accelerometers in these devices may be used to accurately measure CPR parameters. In certain embodiments, parameters may be measured using a game console controller and the feedback may be displayed on a television in the form of a video game.
