A security module is disclosed. In embodiments, the security module includes a common host platform configured to co-host a plurality of certified functions via a plurality of interconnected hardware resources. The common host platform may be configured to host a first certified function independently certified via a first certifying authority, and a second certified function independently certified via a second certifying authority. The first certified function may be hosted on a first sub-set of dedicated hardware resources and a first sub-set of shared hardware resources. The second certified function may hosted on a second sub-set of dedicated hardware resources and the first sub-set of shared hardware resources including one or more hardware resources shared with the first certified function.

A radio device includes a hardware antenna, an analog-to-digital converter, and a processing circuit. The hardware antenna is configured to receive an analog signal corresponding to a radio frequency waveform. The analog-to-digital converter is configured to convert the analog signal to a digital signal corresponding to the radio frequency waveform. The processing circuit is configured to provide the digital signal corresponding to the radio frequency waveform to a first application; execute the first application using the digital signal to generate a first output instruction; execute an application programming interface to convert the first output instruction to a second output instruction; and execute the second output instruction.

Systems and methods for implementing user applications in software-defined radio devices

Embodiments of the inventive concepts disclosed herein are directed to systems and methods for operating in multiple transmissions modes for satellite communications. A controller of a radio device may set a transmission mode of a single transceiver chain to a first communications protocol. The single transceiver chain may communicate with a satellite antenna using the first communications protocol. The controller may modify the transmission mode of the single transceiver chain from the first communications protocol to a second communications protocol. The controller may maintain synchronization for the first communications protocol. The single transceiver chain may transmit a first signal to the satellite using the second communications protocol, responsive to modifying the transmission mode. The single transceiver chain may simultaneously receive a second signal using the first communications protocol and the synchronization, and a third signal using the second communications protocol.

Simultaneous operation of multiple communications protocols

A computer defined radio includes a Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) terminal configured to instantiate two or more virtual terminals. Each of the two or more virtual terminals provides all of the functionality of a MUOS terminal with satellite communication through a single antenna. Each of the two or more virtual terminals may join a separate group as defined by MUOS specifications, and give the single MUOS terminal access to the disparate groups. Each of the two or more virtual terminals is configured to operate at a different bitrate such that the total power consumption of the MUOS terminal is less than the same number of physical terminals operating separately.

Concurrent mobile user objective system streaming

A signal extender and method for extending signals of a satellite is disclosed. The apparatus includes a terminal device interface, an antenna interface and a controller in communication with the terminal device interface and the antenna interface. The terminal device interface is configured for communicating with at least one terminal device. The antenna interface is configured for communicating with an antenna to facilitate communication with the satellite. Upon receiving a downlink signal from the satellite via the antenna interface, the controller processes the downlink signal to identify an intended terminal device among the at least one terminal device and transmits the downlink signal to the intended terminal device via the terminal device interface, and upon receiving an uplink signal from a particular terminal device via the terminal device interface, the controller transmits the uplink signal to the satellite via the antenna interface.

Signal extender for satellite communications system

A method and related system is disclosed for emulation of a Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) ground base station. A Software Defined Radio (SDR) based architecture with interpreted scripting languages interfaces with open source software running in an embedded environment to emulate entire MUOS ground transportation segment. The ground base station emulation resides on a server remote from the MUOS enabled terminals or embedded within MUOS enabled terminals. It is transparent to the MUOS enabled terminal whether the terminal is in communication with the emulation of or the actual MUOS ground base station.

Mobile user objective system ground base station emulation system and related method

A system for routing telephone calls to operator consoles based on the type of call so that an appropriate operator can handle the call. The system comprises an Automated Call Distributor (ACD), adjunct processor nodes, and a call routing distribution system. The ACD receives calls, offers the calls to an adjunct processor node, receives instructions on routing the calls from the adjunct processor node, and routes the calls based on the received instructions. The ACD has links through which the calls are offered and the instructions on call routing are received. Each adjunct processor node is connected to the ACD through the links. The adjunct processor node receives call routing specifications from the call routing distribution system, receives the offered calls, determines to which operator console (or group of operator consoles) the offered call should be routed based on the call routing specifications, and provides an indication of the determined operator console to the ACD through a link as routing instructions. Each link of the ACD is connected to two adjunct processor nodes so that if one adjunct processor node fails, the ACD can receive instructions from the other adjunct processor to which a link is connected. The call routing distribution system inputs call routing specifications and distributes the call routing specifications to the adjunct processor nodes so that each adjunct processor node has the same call routing specification.

System and method for monitoring calls parked on one or more automatic call distributors (ACDs). Calls parked on an ACD are monitored through the use of a call park server that maintains a relational database. The relational database includes a call-leg information table and a method table. The call-leg information table is used to track and maintain the status of each call-leg parked on an ACD. The method table includes pre-determined methods that can be executed in response to a change in status of the parked call-legs. The method table provides a suite of methods that can be selected by a parking facility, for example, an automated response unit or an operator console, to be applied to the parked call-leg when particular events occur.
