System and method for determining real-world effectiveness of various prescribed medications. Here a variety of different types of patient pulse wave measurements (e.g., blood pressure, pulse oximeter, ECG) and other physiological measurements are obtained. This actual data is compared to calculated measurements that would be expected based on various patient baseline measurements in the absence of medication, schedule of medications, and impact of medications the various patient baseline measurements. If the actual data meets expectations, then the medication is likely acting as anticipated. Depending on which types of data do not meet expectations, problems with one or more previously described medications may be reported. Other types of patient physiological readings, such as temperature, motion, lung function, brain wave function (EEG) and the like may also be obtained, these additional types of readings can be used to extend the range of different types of drugs/medications that the system can successfully monitor.

Here, an oscillometric device is mounted on a patient's limb, and oscillometric pulse waveforms are obtained as the device's cuff deflates, thus obtaining pulse wave signals and artifact signals over multiple patient breaths. A computer processor analyzes these signals, and removes artifacts according to various algorithms. The resulting signal can be viewed as containing both an amplitude modulated envelope of pulse waves (AM signals) and a frequency modulated sequence of pulses at various time intervals (FM signals). The main harmonics of the AM and FM signals contain respiratory status data, and the system analyzes both signals. Breathing depth and even pain data may also be obtained by this method. Artifacts caused by aberrant breathing can be distinguished using non-contact microphones and suitable algorithms. The final respiratory status data is output or stored in memory.

A system and method for determining the breathing rate of a patient using only an oscillometric device as the physiological sensor. Here, the oscillometric device is mounted on a patient's limb, and oscillometric pulse waveforms are obtained as the device's cuff deflates, thus obtaining pulse wave signals and artifact signals over multiple patient breaths. A computer processor analyzes these signals, and removes artifacts according to various algorithms. Handheld medical diagnostic instrument that provides high time-resolution pulse waveforms associated with multiple parameters including blood pressure measurements, blood oxygen saturation levels, electrocardiograph (ECG) measurements, and temperature measurements. Simultaneous multi-parameter physiological monitoring device with local and remote analytical capability

An augmented reality system and method configured to automatically provide a user, such as a physician, with a real-time heads-up view of a patient's real-time medical status using an augmented reality headset. The system can automatically identify patients, pull up relevant medical records, obtain real-time biomedical sensor data from the patient, and display this to the user while, at the same time, allowing the user to directly view the patient through the headset's transparent lenses, and leaving the user's hands free to manipulate the patient or perform other functions.
