Providing a user interface (UI) on a web page. A toolbar section is defined on the web page. The web page includes a content section being different and separate from the toolbar section, and the content section displays additional content of the web page. One or more groups are specified to include one or more action controls associated therewith. Each of the specified groups has a group identifier associated therewith. The one or more action controls are displayed according to the specified groups in the toolbar section of the web page. Each of the one or more displayed action controls includes properties associated therewith, and the included properties define at least one of the following: a name of the action control, a link of the action control, the group identifier of the action control, and a classification identifier of the action control.

Extensible and application-adaptable toolbar for web services

A user of a device has an account with a service that stores copies of common data that is automatically made available to any of the user's devices and also stores copies of device-specific data that is available to the user on particular user-selected devices but is not automatically made available to all of the user's devices. A set of backed up devices can be displayed to the user of a particular device with various information describing the devices to facilitate user selection of a device, such as a visual representation of the type of the device that was backed up, a visual representation of a desktop or start screen display of the device that was backed up, and so forth. The user can select one of the displayed devices, and in response have the backed up device-specific data for the selected device copied to the particular device.

The method also includes setting a status data associated with each of the particular messages. The status data indicates the category classified by the user. A first instruction is received from the user for focusing the particular messages according to the category. The particular messages having the status data therewith in the list are focused collectively without altering a preexisting order of the messages in the list.

A method for determining whether to recommend a social relationship between a social network member and another party is disclosed. Electronic communication activity of the social network member and the other party is monitored. Based on a number of characteristics of the communication, a determination is made as to whether to recommend the party to the member as a social network friend. The characteristics can include how the parties communicate&#x2014;whether through email, instant messaging and/or voice communication, whether the parties send direct email messages to each other, whether they communicate as part of a group email message, the location of each parties address in the email message and whether communication includes sharing activity.
