An electronically controlled add-on device with a switch arrangement comprises a powered switch which is open during most of its lifetime, i.e. during both storage and operational use. More specifically, in one embodiment the add-on device comprises a secondary switch so that there are an open and a closed switch. The logics of the electronic circuitry control the circuitry so that the closed switch will be un-powered and the open switch will be powered. When the switch is mechanically changed, both switches are changed by the controller so that the closed switch will be un-powered and the open switch will be powered.

Power efficient add-on device

The invention relates to an injection device () configured to perform automatic priming upon removal of a protective cap () from a cap receiving portion () of a housing (). When mounted on the injection device () the cap () defines a first position for a drive member () relative to the housing (), which drive member () is capable of causing a piston rod () to advance a piston () in a reservoir (). Means () are provided defining a second position for the drive member () relative to the housing (). During removal of the cap () from the cap receiving portion () the drive member () moves from the first position to the second position under the influence of a spring (), thereby causing the piston rod () to pressurize the reservoir ().

Auto-priming injection device

An injection device including a dose setting assembly, and an injection assembly, wherein operating the dose setting assembly to set a dose causes an engagement element to pass a tooth on a toothed rod in a combined translational and rotational movement.

Device for injecting apportioned doses of liquid drug

A mechanical injection device for injecting apportioned doses of a liquid drug. The injection device comprises a dose setting assembly comprising a cap and a cap receiving part, adapted to abut or engage with the cap when the cap is mounted on the injection device, and an injection assembly. Mounting and/or dismounting of the cap on/from the injection device causes the dose setting assembly to set a dose. Thereby a correct dose of drug is automatically set during a cap on/cap off cycle. Since such a cycle is normally performed between two subsequent injections, the number of steps required to be performed by the user is reduced.
