A drilling machine () for making an excavation in ground (S) in a vertical drilling direction (F). The drilling machine () includes: a support () having a longitudinal direction (L); a drilling module () provided with cutter members (), the drilling module being movable in translation relative to the support; and a movement device arranged between the support and the drilling module in order to move the drilling module () relative to the support along the longitudinal direction of the support.
