A polyester composition includes a poly(butylene terephthalate), a nitrogen-containing flame retardant, and a phosphorus-containing flame retardant, such that the weight ratio of the total of the nitrogen-containing flame retardant and the phosphorus-containing flame retardant to poly(butylene terephthalate resin) is at least about 0.70, and the weight ratio of the phosphorus-containing flame retardant to the nitrogen-containing flame retardant is at least about 1.0. The compositions have excellent color stability under ultraviolet light aging, good flame retardance, and high impact strength.

Flame-retardant polyester composition, method for the preparation thereof, and articles derived therefrom

A molded resin article consisting essentially of about 80 to about 99.9 weight percent of a crystallizable polyester, about 0.1 to 10% by weight of one or more nucleating agents, and less than about 5% by weight additional ingredients, wherein the molded resin article has a heat deflection temperature of at least 160&deg; C.

An end capped polyester ionomer composition comprising alkylene aryl polyester copolymer metal sulfonate units with end capping units formed by a reaction of the polyester copolymer with an epoxy compound having at least one cyclohexane ring moiety and a terminal epoxy functional group being a substituent on at least one cyclohexane ring moiety.
