Molecular sieves comprising intergrowths of cha and aft having an 'sfw-GME tail', at least one structure directing agent (SDA) within the framework of the molecular sieve, an intergrowth of CHA and GME framework structures, cha cavities, and aft cavities are described. A first SDA comprising either an N,N-dimethyl-3,5-dimethylpiperidinium cation or a N,N-diethyl-2,6-dimethylpiperidinium cation is required. A second SDA, which can further be present, is a CHA or an SFW generating cation. The amount of the second SDA-2 used can change the proportion of the components in the cha-aft-'sfw-GME tail'. Activated molecular sieves formed from SDA containing molecular sieves are also described. Compositions for preparing these molecular sieves are described. Methods of preparing a SDA containing JMZ-11, an activated JMZ-11, and metal containing activated JMZ-11 are described. Methods of using activated JMZ-11 and metal containing activated JMZ-11 in a variety of processes, such as treating exhaust gases and converting methanol to olefins are described.

A passive NOx absorber for treating an exhaust gas from a diesel engine is described. The passive NOx absorber comprises a first washcoat region comprising a zeolite catalyst, the zeolite catalyst comprising a noble metal and a zeolite having a SAR of 2-15.

Passive NOadsorber

A passive NOadsorber is disclosed. The passive NOadsorber is effective to adsorb NOat or below a low temperature and release the adsorbed NOat temperatures above the low temperature. The passive NOadsorber comprises a noble metal and a molecular sieve having an LTL Framework Type. The invention also includes an exhaust system comprising the passive NOadsorber, and a method for treating exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine utilizing the passive NOadsorber.

Provided are a novel form of AEI zeolite, a novel synthesis technique for producing pure phase AEI zeolite, a catalyst comprising the AEI zeolite in combination with a metal, and methods of using the same. The AEI aluminosilicate zeolite has a cuboid morphology and a silica-to-alumina ratio of 20 to 50.

A novel method for synthesizing AEI zeolites is provided which results in high overall relative yields on silica and the structure directing agent. Structure directing agents useful in the present invention include the cations N,N-Dimethyl-3,5-dimethylpiperidinium, N,N-Dimethyl-2-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperidinium, N,N-Dimethyl-2-ethylpiperidinium, and 2,2,4,6,6-Pentamethyl-2-azoniabycyclo[3.2.1]octane.
