A system includes a first embedded controller to manage a management interface of a mobile device. A second embedded controller manages a display panel at the system. The first embedded controller receives a first event notification of an insertion of a sled in the system, and determines a pending storage mapping associated with the sled. The first embedded controller displays, at the management interface, information associated with the pending storage mapping associated with the sled. The second embedded controller generates a graphical user interface with information associated with the pending storage mapping associated with the sled. The graphical user interface is updated in response to user input.

System and method for dynamically configuring storage mapping

An inter-process communication (IPC) system, includes a first client engine, a first server engine, and a broker engine that is coupled to the first client engine. The broker engine initiates a first timer that is configured to reset when traffic is received from the first server engine while the first server engine is registered with the broker engine and coupled to the broker engine via a communication channel. The traffic that causes the first timer to reset includes at least one of: traffic generated by the first client engine to complete a request, and a first server-to-broker heartbeat message generated by the first server engine. The broker engine determines that the first timer has reached a predefined time amount, and in response, removes the registration of the first server engine and removes the communication channel between the broker engine and the first server engine.

Inter-process communication fault detection and recovery system

A server receives an event notification indicating an opening of a drive drawer, and retrieves a timing parameter associated with a timer that counts a time from the receiving of the event notification by the server indicating the opening of the drive drawer. The server may generate a visual alert that alerts of the opening of the drive drawer, and display a current value indicating the time since the receiving of the event notification.

System and method for improving thermal performance of an information handling system

A method of debugging software code in an information handling system (IHS) is disclosed. The method includes establishing communications between a debug computer and a target computer and triggering the target computer to collect and transmit a plurality of symptom and root cause (SARC) values associated with the software code. The SARC values are compared to SARC reference values associated with the software code. The method further includes determining if the SARC values meet the requirements of the SARC reference values. In response to the SARC values not meeting the requirements of the SARC reference values, at least one process associated with the SARC values that do not meet the requirements of the SARC reference values is identified. Process data corresponding to the at least one process is collected and a SARC diagnosis report is generated for the software code based on the process data.

System and method for debugging software in an information handling system

Systems and methods for automated system-level failure and recovery are described. In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) includes a processor and a memory, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by the processor, cause the IHS to execute a selected process configured to participate in an inter-process communication (IPC) with at least one other process, invoke an error handling process by simulating a fault in the IPC, and determine if the error handling process successfully handles the fault.

Automated system-level failure and recovery

A system includes a processor of a first controller of an information handling system. The processor is operable to determine that a change has occurred in a first group, the first group comprising a plurality of nodes governed by a group policy, and in response to determining that a change has occurred in the first group, identify one or more of the plurality of nodes to notify, wherein the one or more nodes are identified based on subscription information stored in a data structure. The processor is further operable to broadcast, by the controller, a notification to each the identified nodes, the notification including information about the change in the first group, and wherein one or more of the identified nodes updates itself based on information included in the change notification and on content of the group policy.

System and method for group-policy-based configuration

A system includes a processor of a first node, which is one of a plurality of nodes governed by a group policy. The processor is operable to transmit, using an interface, a first request to receive information associated with the plurality of nodes and receive, using the interface, sets of configuration information associated with the plurality of nodes after a change has occurred regarding the plurality of nodes. The processor is further operable to compare the sets of configuration information associated with the plurality of nodes to the configuration information associated with the first node and determine a difference. In response, the processor is operable to determine, based on the group policy, to configure the first node. The processor is additionally operable to determine a second node that stores a set of files to configure the first node and configure the first node using the set of files.

A shared infrastructure environment system is provided that includes a capability to notify individual nodes of notifications, events, and alerts. The system receives, via a management fabric, a subscription from an event client module for information associated with a component. The system also receives a component update associated with the component. The system identifies if any event client module operating on any node has subscribed to receive component updates associated with the component, and sends the component update, via the management fabric, to the identified event client modules.

In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, a computer-implemented method may include providing, via an Information Handling System (IHS), a management console for a CIM environment, wherein the CIM environment includes a plurality of hosts accessible to the console via a network, and wherein each of the hosts has remote agent(s); creating a request to collect data from the remote agent(s), wherein the request follows a Web Services-Management (WS-Man) protocol, the request specifies a timeout and a maximum number of elements to be included in the remote agent(s)' responses, and the maximum number of elements is calculated to allow the remote agent(s) sufficient time to respond to the request prior to expiration of the timeout; and transmitting the request to the remote agent(s).
