Systems and methods for User Equipment (UE) operation in presence of Clear Channel Assessment (CCA) are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for cell selection accounting for requirements includes: determining a measurement period in a serving cell for the cell selection or cell re-selection (T1), wherein the measurement period is determined based on a number of consecutive Discontinuous Reception (DRX) cycles; determining a number of measurement occasions configured with a Discovery Reference Signal (DRS) in the serving cell during T1; determining availability of the DRS at the measurement occasions; and performing measurement based on availability of the DRS at the measurement occasions during T1. In this way, a wireless device may operate in NR RRC_IDLE/RRC_INACTIVE in the presence of CCA, e.g., Listen-Before-Talk (LBT).

Systems and methods for UE operation in presence of CCA

A wireless device () 'relaxes' the radio-signal measurements it makes with respect to a wireless communication network (), in the context of using those measurements to determine whether a current Timing Advance, TA, value remains valid for use in transmitting on preconfigured uplink resources, PUR, of the wireless communication network (). Relaxation refers to the length of the interval between making new measurements. According to techniques herein, the wireless device () operates according to an imposed limit on the extent or degree of relaxation, to ensure or at least improve the reliability of the radio measurements with respect to validation of the TA value. Determination of the extent of relaxation occurs at the wireless device () or at a supporting network node () of the wireless communication network ().

Method and apparatus for controlling transmission on preconfigured uplink resources in a wireless communication network

A method performed by a Network Node (NN) for handling Device to Device (D2D) operation between a first D2D User Equipment (UE) and a second D2D UE in a radio communications network is provided. The NN obtains data related to propagation delay in one or more cells served by the NN. The propagation delay is related to any one or more out of: the first D2D UE, the second D2D UE, other D2D UEs, and cellular UEs. The NN then determines whether or not to configure a number of Guard Period (GP) symbols within a switching time resource, as Sidelink (SL) radio resources for the D2D operation. The determining is based on one or more criteria applied to the obtained data related to the propagation delay.

Network node, device to device user equipment, and methods in a radio communications network

Methods performed by a wireless device and a base station for adapting maximum allowed Clear Channel Assessment (CCA) based on operational occasion periodicity are provided. In examples disclosed herein, a wireless device is configured to determine an operational occasion periodicity of a signal that is subject to CCA. Accordingly, the wireless device can determine an association at least between the determined operational occasion periodicity and a maximum number of allowed CCA failures for communicating the signal. The wireless device can then perform one or more operational tasks based on the determined maximum number of allowed CCA failures. By determining the maximum number of allowed CCA failures, the wireless device can obtain information about downlink CCA failures and use the obtained information for adapting measurements procedures in serving cell operational tasks.

Adapting maximum allowed CCA failures based on single occasion periodicity

Systems and methods for validating one or more parameters are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for validating parameters includes: obtaining information about measurement change for validating one or more parameters; obtaining information about a number of thresholds and associated thresholds used for validating the one or more parameters; and performing parameter validation based on the obtained information. In some embodiments, this is for a Timing Advance (TA) parameter for a Preconfigured Uplink Resources (PUR) transmission. In this way, TA validation becomes more reliable as the validation range can be adapted to the wireless device mobility.

Beam failure recovery in multi-cell configuration

Systems and methods for providing power savings at a wireless communications device in coordination with early measurement reporting are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless communication device comprises obtaining first information for determining whether the wireless communication device meets criteria for entering into one or more relaxed measurement modes and obtaining second information about whether the wireless communication device is configured with early measurement reporting. The method further comprises selecting a measurement mode from a set of measurement modes comprising the one or more relaxed measurement modes and a normal measurement mode. UE power saving mechanism under early measurement reporting

A method, system and apparatus for semi-persistent channel state information (CSI) reporting procedures with uplink (UL) clear channel assessment (CCA) are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes receiving a signal indicating activation or deactivation of semi-persistent channel state information (CSI) reporting and responsive to receiving the signal, attempt to transmit a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request Acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK), the attempt being subject to success or failure of a clear channel assessment (CCA). When the CCA fails and when the signal indicates activation, the method includes refraining from CSI measurement and reporting unless CCA subsequently succeeds before expiry of a time interval. When the CCA fails and when the signal indicates deactivation, the method includes continuing CSI measurement but refraining from CSI reporting unless CCA subsequently succeeds before expiry of a time interval.

Systems and methods for narrowband measurements and reporting in a cellular communications system are disclosed. Embodiments of a method performed by a wireless device are disclosed. In some embodiments, the method performed by the wireless device comprises determining a set of narrowbands on which to perform measurements, wherein the set of narrowbands on which to perform measurements is a subset of all narrowbands within a respective system bandwidth.
