Disclosed includes a body surface device for diagnosing locations associated with electrical rhythm disorders to guide therapy. The device can sense electrical signals and determine multiple sites that may be operative in that patient. The patch may encompass the heart regions from where the heart rhythm disorder originates. The patch comprises an array of electrodes configured to detect electrical signals generated by a heart. A controller may determine the locations of interest based on detected electrical signals. The controller is configured to locate these regions relative to the surface patch. The system may be coupled to a sensor or therapy device inside the heart, to guide this device to a region of interest. The controller is further configured to instruct the operator to use the trigger or source information to treat the heart rhythm disorder in an individual using additional clinical data and methods for personalization such as machine learning.

Personalized heart rhythm therapy

A heart treatment system is disclosed capable of diagnosing one or more critical regions of interest for a biological rhythm disorder by sensing signals from biological tissue. If a critical region is not present at the current location of sensed signals, the system is capable of indicating a guidance direction in which to navigate to reach one or more critical regions. Ablation energy is delivered to treat said region of interest. Signals are again sensed and analyzed to assess the impact of treatment. This process is repeated until all critical regions of interest are treated. In some embodiments, all functionality is provided by a single sensing and treating catheter with display device and analytical software.

System and method for diagnosing and treating biological rhythm disorders

A heart treatment system is disclosed capable of guiding a device towards one or more critical regions of interest by sensing signals from tissue. If a critical region is not present at the current location of sensed signals, the system is capable of indicating a guidance direction in which to navigate to reach one or more critical regions. When stopping rules for direction are met, treatment can be applied to said region of interest by thermal or non-thermal energy delivery. Signals are again sensed and analyzed to assess the impact of treatment. This process is repeated until all critical regions of interest are treated. In some embodiments, all functionality is provided by a single sensing and treating device coupled with a display device and analytical software.

System and method for mapping activation waves to guide treatment of biological rhythm disorders

An ablation catheter for treating electrical rhythm disorders includes an array of sensor electrodes to detect electrical signals to determine a location of a target region for treatment. If the catheter is not optimally positioned at the target region, a controller uses the detected signals to guide movement of the catheter towards the target region. Once proper positioning is ascertained, the controller activates ablation components within the catheter to deliver energy to modify tissue at the target region.

System and method for guiding direction to and treating targets for abnormal biological rhythms

A novel catheter is disclosed comprising an electrode array that is capable of switching between a sensing configuration for sensing electrical signals of biological tissue and an ablation configuration for delivery of ablation energy at a region of interest. Irrigation ports are interlaced within the electrode array to vent irrigant during an ablation procedure to; prevent excessive heating, charring of tissue, coagulation of blood, and allow for efficient delivery of ablation therapy for maximum therapy efficacy. The novel catheter includes a plurality of splines with linear portions wherein the electrodes of the electrode array are disposed. The splines are connected by connectors which include one or more bends capable of storing potential energy when the bends are elastically deformed, enabling collapse and expansion of the catheter in a sheath. Software logic associated with this catheter analyzes sensing signals to diagnose critical regions of the biological rhythm disorder, and enables directional guidance to move the catheter to critical regions for therapy.

Treatment system with sensing and ablation catheter for treatment of heart rhythm disorders

An ablation treatment catheter may include a first conductive wire formed of a first material. The first conductive wire is configured to be connected to a power generator and to carry a current to deliver ablation energy to a biological tissue. The catheter may include a second wire coupled to the first conductive wire. The second wire formed of a second material. The second wire forming a junction with the first conductive wire. The catheter may include a first electrode comprising an ablation element and a temperature sensor. The ablation element includes part of the first conductive wire and is configured to deliver the ablation energy to the biological tissue. The temperature sensor includes the junction of the first conductive wire and the second wire such that a thermocouple is formed at the junction to measure temperature at the first electrode.

Compositions, devices and methods for diagnosing heart failure and for patient-specific modeling to predict outcomes of cardiac resynchronization therapy

A system and method for identifying and treating a disease in a patient collects one or more data streams from sensors configured to detect biological signals generated within a patient's tissue over time. Patient data elements including one or more of demographic, clinical, laboratory, pathology, chemical, image, historical, genetic, and activity data for the patient is collected and processed with the data streams to generate a personalized digital phenotype (PDP). The PDP is compared to a digital taxonomy comprising prior data to classify the patient into one or more quantitative disease classifications to guide personalized intervention for treating the patient.

System and method to maintain health using personal digital phenotypes

A system and method of treating a sleep disorder, including: detecting signals associated with at least one symptom or sign of the sleep disorder at one or more sensors; processing the signals to create a symbolic representation of the sleep disorder, wherein the symbolic representation indicates a relationship of the signals to the sleep disorder empirically and not based on physiologic mapping of the signals to the sleep disorder; and stimulating a region of a human body to alter the symbolic representation between detected signals and the sleep disorder, wherein the symbolic representation as altered indicates treatment of the sleep disorder.

Method and apparatus for enhancing nervous function

An example system and method associated with identifying and treating a source of a heart rhythm disorder are disclosed. In accordance therewith, a spatial element associated with a region of the heart is selected. Progressive rotational activations or progressive focal activations are determined in relation to the selected spatial element over a period of time. The selecting and determining are repeated over multiple periods of time. A source parameter of rotation activations or focal activations is determined, wherein the source parameter indicates consistency of successive rotational activations or focal activations in relation to a portion of the region of the heart. The determining of a source parameter is repeated for multiple regions of the heart. Thereafter, representation of the source parameter is displayed for each of the multiple regions of the heart to identify a shape representing the source of the heart rhythm disorder.

System and method of identifying sources associated with biological rhythm disorders

A method of analyzing a complex rhythm disorder in a human heart includes accessing signals from a plurality of sensors disposed spatially in relation to the heart, where the signals are associated with activations of the heart, and identifying a region of the heart having an activation trail that is rotational or radially emanating, where the activation trail is indicative of the complex rhythm disorder and is based on activation times associated with the activations of the heart.

Method for analysis of complex rhythm disorders

A system for processing cardiac activation information associated with a complex rhythm disorder identifies a location of the heart rhythm disorder by determining activations within cardiac signals obtained at neighboring locations of the heart and arranging the activations to identify an activation trail. The activation trail may define a rotational pattern or radially emanating pattern corresponding to an approximate core of the heart rhythm disorder.
